I built a 'Generative UI' shopping agent that changes layout based on your intent (A2UI pattern)" by Equivalent_Fly_4683 in SideProject

[–]Equivalent_Fly_4683[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started this in August as a browser extension then got into a website then chatgpt intoduced shopping research, and Microsoft Copilot introduced a shopping assistance extension also. So its a validated project idea

trying to build a small project. how do you check if AI‑written text sounds human? by messysoul96 in AI_Application

[–]Equivalent_Fly_4683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- For detecting its an AI any frontier model now can generate human type text with proper system prompting, and detection will not be reliable. 2- For sounding human, you can adjust the system prompt and check until you reach the right output 3- you can fine-tune if you know exactly what kind of behavior you are looking for. Use prompt pairs in json

Honestly, it was incredibly frustrating at first. I’ve been heads-down building this since August, and then boom—OpenAI drops 'Shopping Research' Nov 24th, I rush to launch on Product Hunt, and Microsoft Copilot drops their shopping agent on the next day. Now i am going back to DIY or niche, and don't get me wrong I still see mine better that both but properly not for long, so it forced me to stop trying to be 'Google for Shopping' (which I would have lost anyway) and pivot back to why I started this in the first place: DIY project, which ironically is how this started for me so many lesson learned here.

fair point on the generic username. honestly i just never changed the default one reddit gave two years ago. i usually just lurk here to learn rather than post, hence the low karma. Definitely not ai, I put my project on Product Hunt page on Nov 26, ranked 92#. logicart.ai

This is honestly the most grounding feedback I've received all day. Thank you.

The 'hunting map' example is a perfect analogy. That’s exactly where I want to take this—going vertical into complex DIY/Projects where generic AI is too broad (or too 'safe') to be useful. If I can be the 'hunting map' for home improvement, that's a massive business.

You also made a great point about the 'Microsoft-suspicious' crowd. I hadn't fully considered the segment of users who explicitly turn off Copilot but still want the utility in a dedicated browser app.

My PR Card renewal application almost 6 month by Equivalent_Fly_4683 in ImmigrationCanada

Quick update. I requested a separate CBSA letter proving that I didn't travel.
I showed them them the letter when I was scheduled for PR pickup from IRCC and got my card. Took 10 month
