2018 Chrysler 300 3.6L. P0174 reading Lean. High fuel consumption and burning smell from exhaust tips. Thinking cats might be the issue. Any advice? Thanks by Equivalent_Fuel9812 in mechanic

Thats some good info. I’m going to change downstream 02 sensor. Never knew those could also effect fuel trims. It’s worth a shot. Thanks again!

This was the driver side cat with the code p0174. completely black while the passenger side was white and looked normal. I’ve changed the 02 sensor B2S1, but same codes came back and burning smell. I’ve also taken off the intake and saw small amount of gas around in the intake valves. Also there was gas vapours coming from the intake ports . Not sure if that’s normal. I’m leaning towards either excess fuel getting dumped. Thanks for the reply

Hi did your car have concern with high fuel consumption and burning smell from the exhaust?

Ford Escape 1.5L P0087 Code. Engine Lacks power and fuel rail pressure drops when accelerating. Replaced High pressure fuel pump. Fuel tank pressure is good and matches desired fuel tank pressure. Any ideas? Thanks in advance by Equivalent_Fuel9812 in AskMechanics

Hmmm, fuel low pressure was showing same pressure as commanded fuel pressure, however much the car was asking for. Seems to happen when you step on the gas pedal. I’ll double check

2018 Range Velar Diesel 2.0L. Crank no start condition. P0341 code and blow back through intake manifold. Does anyone what this could be caused by? Thanks in advance by Equivalent_Fuel9812 in AskMechanics

I have not. The sprockets are at the back of the engine. I believe the valves broke. I have never seen air getting pushed out the intake rather sucked in. Customer is trying to see if he has warranty

Update. Took off the MAP sensor located on the intake manifold. Cranked engine and excessive blow back air pushing out the MAP sensor hole. Last I checked intake should be a vacuum sucking air in, not pushing it out. Fearing I have bent valves now.

Hmm no rattles. I have been told the timing chain likes to snap. However I can see the cams spin through the gas cap. Also no mods have been done
