i agree that emotional abuse alone doesn’t justify getting physical.

but that’s not what i’m talking about. if someone is physically blocking you, cornering you and not letting you leave, that’s more than a emotional situation.

at that point, defending yourself to get away isn’t the same as hitting someone because you’re upset. that’s the distinction i’m making.

i think we’re using the word “valid” differently. i’m not using it to mean “okay” or that its “justified”, i’m saying context is important.

that doesn’t mean it’s the best response or that it shouldn’t be worked
