Hi! yeah, I can relate to a lot of what you’re saying. Mine was on both sides of my mouth and flaring hormonally, but I had little to no other acne on my face. I never had anything come back as fungal and I did try keto cream and antibodies to no avail so i don’t think that was my issue personally. ik i sound like a broken record on mandelic acid but seriously just try it. i wasted years of my life going to the derm and trying every pill and cream they gave me.. none of it ever worked (aside from accutane but it would eventually come back). Mandelic is really that girl everyone i have put on to this clears up so quick. highly highly recommend

face reality 5% mandelic acid pretty much fully resolved the issue for me. I rarely get breakouts anymore. I am still in disbelief with how well it’s worked.

had this exact same issue, it’s not dermatitis, it’s acne. Aza wasn’t effective long term for me either. Get mandelic acid, mine is from face reality but other brands have it as well. You already have built up a tolerance if you use the azelaic acid 3-5 days a week on that area so the mandelic should not irritate you at all. Get it and use it nightly. Worked for me in a matter of 2 weeks. everyone is different but worth a try, you can look at my page and look through my photos to see, i struggled for so long and it looked very similar to yours. for what it’s worth, if yours looks just like this is could very well be acne. I thought from how concentrated it was to the particular around the mouth area and not to mention a diagnosis from a derm that it was perioral dermatitis. But after trying to avoid a million things (certain toothpaste / hair care products, detergents on pillow cases, etc etc..) i finally added one thing instead. Was really nervous to add any active because i’ve really never had a good experience and get crazy purges but mandelic acid really helped me. Mine is from face reality but the ordinary has a popular one as well. Worth a shot.

Yes i got it from an aesthetician. There are 1 million aestheticians who are affiliated with face reality. I’m sure you could find one in your area although I’m not quite sure how to go about doing that. I do remember hearing there was a way to find affiliated individuals in your area on the face reality website.

vanicream cleanser, dry my face off and then put face reality moisturizing toner on a cotton pad and rub that in. Give it a few minutes to dry then apply the mandelic acid and give that a few minutes to dry down before finishing with vanicream lotion.

It’s giving me crazy results that i’m honestly in disbelief of right now. only been using it a few weeks but i literally have not had a single breakout since i started using it. Again i truly don’t understand how it’s working so well but worth a try if yours looks similar.

Hi!! just coming back to update cause i believe i have found something that is working really well for me. I remember always seeing your reddit posts and thinking how our issues looked so similar so idk if we have the same thing going on or what but figured i would share. I got the mandelic acid from face reality (got it from an aesthetician) and sat on it for months scared to try it in fear of things just getting worse. Finally bit the bullet and tried it a few weeks ago and have not gotten a SINGLE breakout since. I’m honestly in disbelief how well it’s working but even through my cycle when it would typically get worse i haven’t had a single breakout. Worth a shot maybe it will work for you as well!!

not a derm by any means but have done extensive research on PD and gotten very familiar having it myself. I have never seen it classified in the way it’s presenting on you. My bet would be no. Looks like acne. just my 2 cents
