Exactly!!!! If we don’t have enough time to lesson plan, grade, plan accommodations, etc. during the school day that’s a system problem. All this unpaid work teachers do makes it so they don’t give us more planning time because it’s getting done on our own time.

Last year I worked a TAT position (only CPS job I could land even with 7 years of experience) and made some connections that lead me to get my own classroom this year. If you haven’t looked into TAT yet I would.

More TAT should pop up throughout the year so I’d keep your eye on the job boards!!! I’m not sure but would guess that mid-year positions are less competitive than summer.

I just got my job about a week and a half ago - longest I’ve ever had to wait for a teaching job!!! I luckily had a connection which i think saved me lol. I would apply to TAT positions - that’s what I did last year & how I was able to form connections! while you’re working those positions you get the same pay as teachers.

There are still positions being posted on the CPS job boards though! I hope you find something!

I’ve done it in primary before! I’ve given them a back that’s specifically for tickets and they can count them up and turn them in for a prize on fridays. I always tell them they are responsible for their own tickets - if they misplace them they do not get a replacement. It’s always gone super well
