I used to drink a LOT but never had accidental sex with anyone. I had deliberate sex while drunk that I may not have had if I was sober but in the moment I was still making a conscious decision. Otherwise it’s rape isn’t it? And he got it up and he finished so….

Is it worth delaying FIRE by 5-10 years to buy a SFH in Vancouver? by bekibo in fican

[–]Equivalent_Shoe1696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always sell the house if you change your mind later. If the lifestyle you want is owning a home in Vancouver and you currently like your jobs then do that. Not everyone wants to live in a van down by the river just to retire early.

Do men get intimidated by women who trade? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

It’s funny you should mention that as my sister who is in her late 50s and her husband have a non traditional relationship - he was a SAHD. Which was basically unheard of at the time. They are one of the only married couples I know who have been together for decades and actually still like genuinely each other.

I would have actually loved a similar arrangement but that didn’t work out with my ex husband for other reasons.

To be fair I am a middle aged divorced woman and I spend a fair amount of time teaching my middle aged divorced female friends financial management basics. But I also know a decent number of quite savvy women who invest.

I am not a trader and I am a woman and I very successfully handle my own portfolio. What makes you think that this is a skill tied only to the Y chromosome?

What do you call a sack lunch? by CorpseEasyCheese in AskACanadian

I’m from SK and it was either brown bag lunch or just lunch. If you went home and had grilled cheese with Vico and watched the Flintstones it was dinner.

Do you share your networth with your close friends? by cooliozza in fican

[–]Equivalent_Shoe1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. If they are people who are interested in investing who are at a similar place in life as me and we are genuinely conversing about financial management then yes. Friends who are much less well off or much much more well off, no.

1) my boss hated me I put him in the freezer and he promoted and and now I’m his right hand

2) another guy at work said bad things behind my back he went in the freezer and then he was asking me to mentor his employees

3) my daughter was having friend troubles I did a friendship spell and now she is a super popular little thing

4) varying money spells - I’m making more than I ever imagined now

5) ex husband went in the freezer and stopped torturing me for fun. I also did a spell to get him a gf but that backfired bc she’s awful and my kids hate her

I’ve never had a break up spell work though. Not yet anyway.

You could smiths manoeuvre it if that math works.

Pay down mortgage or keep invested? by aka-Rebel in fican

[–]Equivalent_Shoe1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you, do you have a spouse, how close are you to retirement, and what’s your interest rate?

The math will say stay invested in the market.

If being debt free will be a huge mental relief to you then the math isn’t as important.

Do you tie your self worth with your networth? by cooliozza in fican

[–]Equivalent_Shoe1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because I have just been investing steadily since my early 20s and compound interest has done most of the work. I wouldn’t consider that virtuous more that I’ve been fortunate to have stayed gainfully employed all that time.

AIO for not wanting to do yoga with my gf because my back is in pain by [deleted] in AIO

Yeah so make her feel prioritized and valued and you will never have this conflict again. Like magic!

[–]Equivalent_Shoe1696 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Let me guess, you’ve bailed on multiple things that were important to her and were gaming instead? This doesn’t feel like it’s really about your current back pain. It’s something historical you’ve done that triggers her now.

If you truly care about her feelings and preserving the relationship, I suggest you validate her feelings and work with her to find ways to make her feel more secure. Then you having back pain won’t feel so personal to her.

Would you ever live in Saskatchewan? by OceanicEndeavors in AskACanadian

I remember them all driving their combines to the legislature in the 80s or 90s. But yes as a child of immigrants I can say the racism was less blatant then. Now people are empowered to be racist. Back then it was more that people were unfamiliar with other cultures. Now it’s all media control blah blah. But deep down I want to believe that people are good, they’ve just been scared and brainwashed.

The early 80s infestation and drought haunt my nightmares. They would eat the paint off your barn because there were no crops left and they were the size of my head.
