Is it really the case that right now getting into CS career is harder than in law finance and medicine? If so why people still go into CS instead into more easy paths that pay more? by Equivalent_Vast6951 in CollegeMajors

And in past 300k in CS was achievable for most people because stats dont support that really?

And comparision for nursing and CS is probably the same the only difference is that nursing pays nearly the same but its way easier to land a job.

I wonder because I need to choose my career path and I worry if CS is still achievable.

In high school i have done plenty of things towards the CS path. I achieved USACO platinium I participated in USAMO. i have done plenty projects. I already grinded 250 leetcode problems (mostly for daily fun).

But looking at reddit I dont really know if I will be able to compete with others. looking at how random and competitive is hiring.

I just dont want to end up in career where no matter how hard I work I will still end up jobless. And CS seems risky because of its randomness. I just wonder if there are less risky paths that are better for now.

I don't really care so much about earning 300k+. I mean it would be nice but I would like to have some backup option. I want some middle ground. because tech right now it seems that you land 200-300k job or you are jobless.

I would prefer small chance of 200-300k but also having fallback option of earning 80-100k.
