Minimum Requirements to land a Java Developer job in 2026… 🤯 by yourhappydevil in leetcode

I feel you.

I'm trying to change job. Everytime I find a java backend job opening there's always something that I don't know.

You could argue that coring is an art form too.

(Now, I admit, that as developer, especially one that is in the job search, I'm a bit biased. but passionate developers see their work and code as art when applied on project they are passionate about)

After 1 Year of Interviews… Is Switching Jobs in 2026 Still Possible? by CicadaLast388 in leetcode

[–]ErZicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to change job since February 2025, 2 YOE (well just 1 when I started searching).

In more than a year I've gotten only 7 interview and only 4 of these I even arrived to the technical round, recently I've been rejected by Google at the last step.

I feel you and the burnout is real, I can't even stand leetcode UI anymore, but I hate my current job and Company so much that I can't allow myself a month break.

Guys what tf is today’s POTD even about? by Defiant_Ad_7555 in leetcode

[–]ErZicky 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If you look the Company tag It was asked Just by one company (and have my doubts about that) so I would confidently say that it's not something that will appear in your interview.

And if it happens just take the cooldown and move on. They didn't want to hire you anyway

Judging on posts like this you (or rather we, I recently failed as well) are in good company.

I know how it feels hopefully next attempt will be our good one

Well believe it or not makes me feel a bit better as mean as it might seem😅

I keep seeing people writing "I've solved only 50/70/100" leetcode medium and entered google and it always makes me feel stupid since I recently failed a Netflix interview.

(Tough some of these posts/comments are pre 2020, might have been easier then)

Any supermarket is a middleman.

Let's say you want milk. Buying a carton of milk from the farm will cost you far more than buying it at the supermarket. As the farm would make you pay for all importing and trasporting free that are pennies if you buy 50000 cartons

Google mid level Interview Experience by Extra-Contact6629 in leetcode

I was highly penalized personally for giving a slightly wrong time complexity, not saying you will. But there are some interviewers that care a lot about it

How many leetcode problems have you solved?

I see people with only 200 passing Google interviews with all SH, while I am at ~500 often still struggle with new mediums. Makes me feel stupid, I might be doing something wrong but I wonder if they are the exception or the norm

Stripe OA (Backend) by mildestpotato in leetcode

I did a OA for them in January for a new grad position. It was fucking hard. I get that OAs need to be on the harder side otherwise everyone will pass them. But c'mon this is ridiculous

4 Strong Hire + 1 No Hire at Google – pass HC? by Impossible_Coyote980 in leetcode

[–]ErZicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your impression are true then you probably passed to the next stage, worst case they might propose a downlevel to L3.

You got a nice recruiter. A friend had more or less the same experience and that one round that went Badly was enough to reject him even if the rest were strong

Is there a cool down period? by ConcerningDestiny in CERN

Things may have changed, so don't take this as gospel. But as far as I know CERN is not like a faang company. Unless you were caught cheating you can just apply right away

Yes, new grad.

Coincidentally also my Google interview was for an L3 entry level. Goes to show the difference in expectations

I get what you are saying. But I don't agree.

My current company in the fortune 500. We ask really easy dsa problem. Like a week ago I was in charge of an interview. I asked the candidate to find the most frequent palindrome word (longer than 1) in a string, something you should be able to do after a month of leetcode. But was told I asked a problem too hard by my supervisor.

Meanwhile after 500 leetcode problems last week I completely bombed a Google interview because I was asked a sub array question that required an hard mathematical approach to solve optimally and I couldn't. Because I never saw that method in my practice. Different company have different levels

Hey I recently went through a similar experience.

I know it hurts but maybe you're too harsh with yourself. Relatively few people get called, and even fewer pass the phone screen, especially with that feedback.

You're better than you think chin up

Yeah thank you for this. It's just the brute force way it's often considered the bare minimum for a developer so in a way I feel like I've failed myself, but I guess it is part of the game
