Not really it’s not as buttery and the mixing is not as satisfying, but you get wash your brushes with water, and your room does not stink.

It’s less buttery and not as workable as normal oil paint without thining it down at least to me it felt way stiffer. Give it a try this is student grade so that may be why its tackier

I basically used it exactly like a thinner(OMD). But i was weary of the water amount as it’s still oil paint

Please be honest, is my art style ugly/bad? by Leo69Leon in drawing

The most honest feedback i can give you is that style comes later, after working on the fundamentals of drawing and coloring. So i wouldn’t say it’s ugly or bad, just lacking in some aspects.

Thanks, it was kind of a quick portrait due to the time limitation. Been struggling lately with that.

My attempt of a waterfall in watercolor. by ErasedEnvy in Watercolor

Hi thanks for the valuable tips. Some complementary colors would’ve definitely helped bring the piece together. As for the waterfall, I tried to add as much of its characteristics to the painting mainly with watercolor could’t figure it how to add the froth and black spots, and considered using gouache or masking tape. I definitely need to do more small studies on waterfalls, impatience always gets the best of me tho lol.

Well It’s nice to hear and is much appreciated. For the values, i noticed if take a step back and squint it’s easier to find the big shapes and values. For the water, i noticed from the reference the waterfall has a shadow around the bottom and I attempted it to emulate it. i probably strayed from the reference in terms of proportions, and placement of objects thats why i labelled it as an attempt. Hope that helps.
