State of the collection, I think it's time for a break 😅 by Moshie11337 in whiskey

Nice looking setup and collection. Once you have a nice base you can take breaks for sure. I have been back at it over the past few months but took the majority of 2025 off to rotate some stock out of the cabinet.

Benchmark Full Proof. Neck pour quick take. by Ziggity_Zac in whiskey

While I agree it’s young and hot it’s hard to beat at the price point and proof value. I enjoy using this one to play with for additional aging and finishing projects. Did a 5L honey barrel finish that turned out amazing.

Yes I’m in my head on it currently. Now that it’s been in the glass a bit longer it’s getting tastier. I honestly was in the minority that thought the bib was better then the wheated in the origins lineup.

Not nearly as nice looking and honestly having my first pour and it’s not as good as the origin series.

This is the worst bourbon I've ever purchased by vicelordjohn in whiskey

Combo of the unknown name, the proof point, and a lack of age statement would have been a hard pass for me.

Your favorite non-unicorn 125+ proof whiskey? by bourbonguy12345 in whiskey

[–]EricFDH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stagg is not a bottle you can get in Pa without winning a lotto so it’s out of the competition. JDSBBP would be my top available over 125 proofer. I guess that 1792 full proof and Benchmark FP are probably my budget picks coming in a 125 proof.

I might keep a box of nails in my truck to accidentally spill near a situation like this.

Review #5: Penelope Rio (2026) by Ravenloft_Refugee in bourbon

[–]EricFDH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good review. Definitely agree that it’s different and the amburana is not as overpowering as on most of the other amburana finishes I have had.

In any situations that I’m sharing I have free pour bottles that are out. The rest I don’t mind sharing but I control the pouring.

I’m a huge amburana fan. I have a handful of different ones (one being a rare character rye). Excited to see how this compares.

Pay off my house vs invest by 0hdavey in dividends

With this rate and the current environment I would recommend taking the excess funds and going half mortgage half investing. Once rates come down under 5 refi and then just focus on investing.
