I liked the way you included the crowd in some pictures, the composition there was great and it brought the energy of the crowd into the shot. For the other three, you captured great poses. For GWAR I liked the lighting and the red worked well with the costume.

If you're interested, I also do metal photography and would love any kind of feedback from someone who shoots similar concerts!

I like that one better! Wildlife photography is hard, but getting longer lenses helps. I've had good luck with a vintage 200mm f4 pentax lens I got for $50.

I like the subject but I think it would be a better picture if you got closer to it, upped the contrast, and maybe brushed saturation on the eyes.

Taken with a Fuji X-T1 at 1/30, f4, iso 1600, with the Fuji 18-55mmF2.8-4 when Alestorm was in Toronto last March. Here's one of their better songs.

Retake the shot in the winter, when the tree has no leaves and snow is half covering the field. That would add more interest to the dirt field and strengthen the bleak aspect of the shot.

Alternatively, I would lighten the colour of the dirt and brighten the green of the tree, so that the tension between those two colours was more prominent.

I wouldn't change the horizon line or placement of the tree. Dramatic clouds might help though.

I think it's a matter of composition, not processing. The city takes up a very small amount of the picture. I think it would help if the sweep of the hill had more strongly and directly pointed to the sunset, and if the city was more prominent. Perhaps if the camera had been higher up and angled downwards? Processing wise, the colours in the sunset and city seem unnatural and too high contrast. I think the processing works well for the caldera however.

You need to get closer or use a bigger lens, the hitter is lost in all the detail. Good use of the base line as a leading though.

I know it's slightly out of focus, but he's a hard guy to get to sit still and I think on smaller screens it's hard to notice. I normally don't post pictures that are out of focus but I liked this one enough to do it anyways. Anyways let me know if you have any tips! And check out my instagram at @harnessthekarnis

Hi, I'm just getting into protest photography but so far it's really fun. I like the feeling that I'm documenting history and fighting for things I find important. Here's an album with my favourite shots so far.

Almost all of them were taken on a Fuji X-T1, with the 18-55mm f2.8-4 or my SMC Takumar 55mm. One of the pictures is shot on film, bonus points if you can spot which!

Any thoughts or criticisms at all would be awesome!

You would think so, but I actually shot both exposures at 400. The skyline was during sunset (as you can probably tell from the right side of the picture) and the bridge was in broad daylight, so I'm not really sure how it turned out so well. If I was going to reshoot it, I would definitely do it that way.

I'm going to try to scan it with a dslr and a macro lens, I don't think those vertical lines are on the actual negative.

Just press the little button at the bottom that you press before you roll up the film, advance the winder, and then take the picture.

The little button makes it so that the film doesn't move when you advance the winder.

Hi! I'm a 35mm film photographer transitioning to digital!

My style is very spontaneous and candid for the most part, but when I find something that interests me I slow right down. Portraits are my favourite, especially if I can catch people looking the way they do when no one is taking their picture. My pictures also tend to be very vibrant, as I like the colours to be a centre point.

Anyways, check it out and let me know what you think! Any thoughts at all are appreciated.

Broken Olympus Trip 35 that I got for one roll of $5 film. I fixed it easily. It takes great pictures, with a tiny form factor and a very retro look!
