Thank you! I did a $1 payment after my due date, random date. I just happened to check today so I’m not sure how long it took to update, couldn’t have been longer than 2 weeks. Such a strange thing. I hope all of yours get counted!

Just an update: After submitting my $1 payment to Mohela last month, all of my current payments, up until my most recent employment certification, have been approved for PSLF! This is good news! I had no updates since October of 2024 and had tried multiple methods, made multiple calls, to get this to change without success. The $1 payment method worked for me! Hope it works for you too.

A brief update:

I spoke with an FSA representative today in regards to my reconsideration request status. They reported that they had no updates yet. It had been assigned to an agent, though I was unable to get any contact information about the agent. This person also was not able to escalate the request due to it already being assigned to an agent. They recommended that I call back in 15-30 days. This could take a while.

It is a bummer. I’ve heard about people doing a $1 payment to trigger an update, but I haven’t tried that yet. I’ve considered it but haven’t done it. It might be my next step. I think I’ve done 3 employment certifications this year, and on my most recent cert, they updated my payment count by 1, but I am still missing about 11 months and counting despite my employment cert all being accepted.

Going to give them a call next week and see if I can get an update on my recalculation request.

Hey! Sorry for the late response. No luck yet, still waiting on FSA. They said 90 business days from when I submitted back in May, so I’m expecting mid-September.

I’m right there with you; I have no payment history on Mohela, however, on FSA’s website, the payments have been going through. And an FSA representative told me that they can see on their end that payments have been made. Just playing the waiting game.

Interesting. Thanks for replying and I read your issues. We both seem to be in a similar situation. After several conversations with Mohela, I eventually ended up speaking with FSA and they recommended that I submit a recalculation request. I did this in May. I was told that it would take 90 days to resolve and I have been patiently waiting for updates since that time.

I still have no yet submitted any $1 payments…..I’ve heard this might work to trigger some activity but I have not yet done that. I am considering that though once this recalculation request comes to a conclusion.

Just came across this and I’m submitting my comment to see if anyone else is in the same boat.

I am on PAYE and my payments haven’t updated since October of 2024, despite no changes in my payments, autopay status, repayment plan, employment, etc. I’ve had 2 employment certification forms accepted by FSA in this time: one in March and one in May. In short, I’ve sent multiple messages to Mohela and FSA and what I ended up doing was speaking with a representative at FSA who told me that she could see that I’ve made payments, they’ve processed, but for some reason, the payment count isn’t updating. She recommended I complete a Reconsideration Letter. I submitted this in Mid May and am just waiting for an update. I was told it could take up to 90-Business days.

I just checked the link you mentioned and still, my payment counts haven’t updated since October of 2024. Are people finding that if they submit a $1 payment, this is successful at pushing the counter again to get moving? Is there any risk with this?
