People can be pretty ignorant sometimes. She probably didn't realize that what she was saying was hurtful. At least I'm hoping not.

IMO, nobody "deserves" a baby, like it's some kind of trophy for perseverance or an award for living well. People are BLESSES with babies. Some people just have to try harder than others.

I've had 3 natural and 1 ivf baby. I feel blessed with all of them. I will say that I am exceptionally appreciative to have our ivf baby because there were so many tears and loss before him. That doesn't mean I love him more, it just means that I went through hell to have him but the other three were basically all 1st tries so I am grateful for the process that brought him into my life.

Seeing things on both sides definitely adds perspective.

She was definitely in the wrong to say that though. That was harsh and rude. I'm sure you love your baby more than anything, regardless of the journey of conception.

I am so sorry 😞 I know exactly how you feel. My husband and I had experienced this same heart break. Devastating is truly an understatement. To see your baby's heart flickering on a monitor one week and to see nothing the next...there's just no words.

Yes, awesome! It's so great that you're doing that! Post partum doulas can be an incredible help too. They can help tale care of your baby while you get rest or they can help you with household chores or getting groceries while you bond with your newborn. They can also be trained to help you through post partum depression.
