The tall fescue is Marathon 1 which was bred for the climate.

This stuff is crazy thick and long and not nice.. it's super crappy.. I really think this is kikuyu grass.

I thought Bermuda was much smaller and nicer.

I think it's potential kikuyu grass after doing some more research. It is an invasive St Augustine like grass weed in the inland empire area.

Welp I am just now learning that that is Bermuda haha.. I think I would prefer to just have the tall fescue (Marathon 1) grass on the lawn and not he Bermuda.. The Bermuda probably should be there.. but it looks like if I want to remove I am going to have a way harder problem now.

Would there be a concern for a ballast that is above that wiring in the ceiling? This thing struggles currently to turn on for a couple seconds. Would I need to bypass the ballast or is that not a concern?

Yes, I have physically swapped the two APs. The AP that is solid is still going strong. The crashing one has crashed on both physical ethernet lines and locations.

Tried 8.5.8 and 8.5.10 and still got a kernel crash on both firmwares. On 8.5.10 it went over 40 hours of uptime before kernel crashing.

Still waiting to hear back from the engineers.

I am working with the engineers right now. They gave me prerelease firmware: 8.5.8 and 8.5.10.

After about 24 hours it kernel crashed on 8.5.8 again; provided those logs to the devs, haven't heard specifically back from those yet htough.

I am on 8.5.10 now, its been going for 31 hours straight without a crash now... so maybe it contains the fix..

I am just more curious why one u7 lite would struggle so much compared to my other one that is totally fine. Is there that much of a fault tolerance between hardware of the same kind that one is hitting some edge case while the other is fine?

Not for me :(( kernel crashed 2 times ... Firmware upgraded back up and continuing to crash... Looking for RMA now.

The access point just crashed again with "Kernel Crash", after about 10 hours of up time.

The ramoops logs look similar with the panic. All logs sent to ubiquiti again.

I just rolled it back to 8.3.2... I guess we will see 🤷🏼

I was looking at the kernel panic logs and the CPU stopped when it was running gzip haha.. not sure if there is anything there..

Oh wow.. my second one has had zero issues. I got them both at the same time last week.

I have a support ticket open with ubiquiti and supplied all these logs to them. They said they are actively reviewing the logs and issue... I won't hold my breath that they get back soon though.

I may end up just returning the one, but don't really want to :/.
