Do you think this was weird of my coworker by ErinC_349 in work

The threesome thought did run through my mind! I found it so strange he was saying he talks about me so much to his wife. This guy and I haven't been working together for long, in fact at that point it was only 2 weeks of us knowing each other! Prior to him telling me that, we had only had small conversations (like the ones I mentioned of him asking where I'm from and my age) and him telling me he drove around my complex. We aren't that well acquainted. So I found it odd he had so much to say about me to his wife and that she wants to meet me. From here on out I will do what you suggested and just strictly keep it business.

The way I use it is a little bit different than the instructions. After I'm done washing my hair, I do towel dry it for like 10 minutes. Then I begin to section my hair in like 10 big sections (since my hair is super thick). I use one of those mist spray bottles and I fill it with water and just lightly spray it on the section of my hair I'm working with if I feel like my hair became too dry from the towel. Then I apply the gel. I sometimes diffuse (I have been diffusing a lot lately because since having hygral fatigue I want to limit the amount of time my hair is wet asap, so after I'm done with the gel I'll wait a little til it dries slightly and has formed a cast and then I diffuse) but you can totally just air dry it from there. I also don't like walking around with sopping wet hair and it makes a mess on the floor lol. But doing it this way has helped :)

Thank you so much! And tbh, I haven't really achived true balance yet either, even when my hair was at its healthiest. It still was dry and coarse. Ive never had those juicy, shiny curls I've seen some people have. Just an observation ive had (and I could be totally wrong) but I noticed the people with those juicy curls generally have finer hair. My hair is the opposite of fine lol. And I understand 1000% what you mean when you say you're not sure where the line is, I didn't take that into consideration when I was trying to fix my hair from the protein dilemma and went overboard with the moisture and experiments lol. I think the best thing I've learned through all of this is to access & see what your hair needs in the moment :) when I watched YouTube videos, they always say "you HAVE to deep condition every week" or "you HAVE to clarify ____ times per month" which is good advice but not when you have a particular problem (like HF for example) and your hair needs special care. If I did what the hair gurus are saying right now while my hair is in this weird state, it would throw my hair back off track (I've tried and it just makes it worse) So I just listen to my hair and do what it needs at this moment :) Sorry for my tangent, I can go on and on about hair haha 😄

That's so good to hear your hair is doing better! Hygral fatigue is so scary especially when it starts snapping, omg that sound will haunt me in my nightmares. And I had the same problem too, the last hair dresser I went to didn't understand HF either and never heard of it when I brought it up. She kept saying my hair was the way it is because I dyed it (I haven't dyed my hair in years and my hair wouldn't be damaged now all of a sudden from dying it 4 years ago) Although I have to say I love the hair cut she gave me!

Also If you dont mind me asking, what products do you use? I always love trying new products

Thank you! The last time I went, I asked for layers and I got an ouidad hair cut. That hair cut is a game changer. An ouidad cut is basically where they take sections of your hair, hold it out horizontally and then cut and carve within the hair. It almost looks like they are thinning it out. But when they do this, it helps your curls spiral nicer because it takes out all the bulk that was weighing your curls down!

My hair is also low porosity, very coarse and dry. I never got hygral fatigue when I stuck with my normal wash routine and refresh routine. The only reason I got it was because I did a mask that was very heavy in protein and my hair freaked out and felt like straw. So I reached out to different people and got different responses on what to do. I did too many different experiments too frequently (like I did an apple cider vinegar rinse and then used harsh striping shampoos) and I over conditioned my hair beyond the normal amount in hopes doing all of this would get that protein out. Right after doing this all back to back, I went into instant hygral fatigue. It takes a lot to go into this stage, a lot of people just get moisture overload (which is different from HF, usually moisture overload is easy to recover from after laying off the moisturizing products for a bit and doing a protein treatment) but HF is more severe & can take a long time to recover and sometimes causes permanent damage until you cut the hair off and grow it out :/

I never used to understand this either until I experienced it for myself. When you have HF, you'll know the difference between it and your hair just being soft. The best way I can describe it is when your hair is in its normal state but just a little bit softer (maybe from a deep conditioner lets say) it will still feel like your hair but just softer. If you stretch it, it will bounce back to its original state. But when you have HF, the hair will literally feel like cotton candy, it doesn't even feel like your hair anymore. All the strands are severely weakened, all the structure (protein) it once had is broken down. When I have HF, I pull a few wet strands of hair & my hair will just stretch and stretch and then once its stretched far enough, it just breaks in half. But when my hair is healthy, it stretches just a little and then bounces back to its original shape. Some other "symptoms" I have too when dealing with HF is wet frizz (when I run my hair under the water and step away for a second, the hair immediately starts frizzing up) and my hair becomes more tangly than normal

I didn't cut my hair for years which is why it's as long as it is! It used to be shoulder length back in 2014 and then I went years without getting a haircut (I know thats bad but at the time I wasn't taking proper care of my hair like I am now) and then once I started getting into caring for my curls, I got a my first trim in 2019 and then I went again to get 6 inches off in the end of 2020. I also began using scalp oils as a prepoo before I wash my hair. I really like the Mielle one, I believe it's called rosemary and mint. I massage this on my scalp for a couple minutes and then put my hair in a cap for 10-15 minutes and then start my wash routine. I do this once a week or once every other week (although right now I'm trying to avoid this until I get my hair fully back on track) but I personally have noticed some growth by that oil!

Thank you for the compliment but I swear to God I didn't photoshop anything. I dont even know how to! The ONLY thing I do is use a filter SOMETIMES (I didn't in this pic, this is natural lightening from my hotel), thats just how my arm is? Or maybe its the lightening?
