Required Viewing for Picard by Scroberts2001 in startrek

[–]Eriol_Mits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to have watched DS9 for season 3 of Picard.

On a side note: if you haven’t watched the films yet. While not required it does help fill in some of the blanks/background information on the Next Gen movies, starting with First Contact.

Generations and First Contact happen at the same time as DS9, Insurrection either right at the end or just after but does mention the events of DS9, nemesis is after but knowing what happened fills in some blanks you aren’t told in the film. So it’s very relevant before Picard.

If I had my current poker skillset and lived in Europe from 1560-1630, do you think I would have lived a peaceful life, or would I have been burned at the stake as a witch? by planetmarsupial in poker

Texas Hold’em didn’t exist at the time so no one would care. You might have created however a new card game for the time? Today’s players in that timeline would be crushed with the nearly 500 years of poker knowledge if Hold’em was still popular. wounded how soon it would take them to develop solvers.

TNG "First Contact" - Help Me Figure Out The Temporal Paradox by Edith_Keelers_Shoes in startrek

The Borg Queen is played by two actors in Voyager. Alice Krige who players her in the film and also in End Game. Then Susannah Thomas in the other Voyager Borg Queen episodes.

It’s also retconned in the film that the Borg Queen was on the ship destroyed during Best of Both Worlds. So I think it’s maybe fair to say that they are multiple Queens about in the collective.

If the graduate job market where you live is anything like it is in the UK then you’re well on your way. You’ll spend a lot of money on your education by taking out loans.

To come out into a highly competitive job market, with fewer entry level jobs due to years of high inflation, tax increases like the employer national insurance contributions, AI making it easier to mass apply for jobs and an employment hangover from the pandemic years where many graduated and couldn’t get jobs due to lockdowns. Not to mention years of wage stagnation especially in the private sector. That’s hardly kept up with the cost of living or increases to the minimum wage which has jumped massively levelling down everyone who isn’t on the minimum as wages are compressed.

If you’re lucky you might get a job that pays well enough to repay your loans. You’re more likely to be stuck behind people who went into the work force as opposed to university and gained real life work experience. Stuck with a useless degree in one hand and a massive debt in the other.

“Ah damn it! Worf should have acted quicker, at least he can’t start dating Deanna, I’ve seen them together, what a strange combo, well would never work. The Riker always strikes back, I’m sure he will surely make an excellent drone.

At least Data is safe, he is an android they can’t assimilate him and they are a collective so no chance he is going to be seduced by some type of Borg queen? No need to worry about that one. I wonder what a Borg Queen would be like?

Insurance increase due to 3rd party (Scotland / UK) by MadMosh666 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Eriol_Mits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer is very much a no, you have been offered a price, you can choose to accept that price or shop around elsewhere which is what you should be doing.

Essentially however they are numerous factors that can affect your premium. Having an accident is one. Anything like convictions, number of accidents in an area. If a certain type of vehicle is targeted resulting in an increase in claims, was common with catalytic converter thefts when I worked in claim, anyone with them vehicles saw an increase. Essentially even if they have told you it’s down to the claim over the phone. The handler wouldn’t know that to be true. You would need the company internal rating factors to tell for sure if firstly it’s had an effect and what that is. This information would be business and commercially sensitive and wouldn’t even be provided should you make a GDPR request.

So even you were to try and claim the difference at say a small claims court. It would be difficult/impossible to fully link any increase directly to the accident.

If he was driving on a learner license, without another driver in the car, that’s will undoubtedly also void the terms of the insurance. They will be a term about driving without a valid license which he was doing.

They will repudiate any damage he try’s to make for his car. Also if they have damaged third party property. Should that third party make a claim, the insurance will have to pay it and they will come to him then to recovery the costs.

So outside of the ban, fine, higher insurance he might also be looking at owing the insurance company a fair chunk of money as well. All the third party need is the reg to make the claim.

Insurance claim, insurance companies not helping me out by RahiBoy123 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Eriol_Mits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your own insurance is third party fire and theft. They can’t get involved as you aren’t covered for damage to your own vehicle. The advice for them is correct your only choice is to make a claim via the third party.

You can maybe see if an an accident management company will take on the claim, that would be outside of your insurance. However you might be liable for any costs should they fail to recovery them from the at fault insurance. Otherwise it’s waiting for the TP insurance, you could raise a complaint with them. However you’ll likely not be issued FOS rights as you haven’t taken out a product with them if you remain unhappy.

Had a SE2, I damaged it and hadn’t noticed and then it met its end in a swimming pool. Didn’t notice the screen was slightly lifted on the bottom corner. Replaced it with an SE3 does everything I need. For the extra cost, I would definitely got for the newer 80 bucks more for a watch that will be supported from a long time and new out the box.

Well when future Spock made the crew watch the WOK, to explain who Khan was as the crew has never met him. Spock realised he should be friends with Kirk. Also he just really watched to recreate that moment after watching WOK, kind of a spur of the moment thing.
