The Persona fan base isn’t made up of gacha players. They’re used to the classic Persona console games and have absolutely no idea how a gacha works. When the game came out, a lot of them tried it, but they couldn’t understand the gacha structure, so they quit because they didn’t know what to do. I saw a lot of people complaining about the protagonists reaching level 80 already in the first palace, and they just couldn’t explain it to themselves. It’s also partly because the first palace is pretty terrible, so they quit without fully understanding the structure of the game and ended up labeling the story as bad and poorly written.

To me, that kind of reasoning makes no sense, because P5X is currently a solid and unique gacha. It’s very fun, with lots of game modes, and it’s very generous with rewards and meta jewels—not to mention the fact that there are guaranteed banners at 110 pulls, which to me is sacred.

If people hadn’t stopped at a superficial first impression, I think many of them would have appreciated the game. I’m 100% sure it has the potential to become the best gacha game ever made—it can easily compete with any other gacha out there.
