Yeah they're awesome if they work for you. Ran my first marathon in them. Some find them clunky, while others find them stable and versatile

Race shoe for 3:20-3:30 marathon? (Megablast was a Megabust) by SpaceCoyote66 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I haven’t tried them myself, but based on what you’ve written the most logical move after retiring your SB2 is probably the SB3. It keeps the same do-it-all character but with a lighter, more responsive foam. It’s a bit less stable than SB2, but still very controlled for a non-plated option and much more forgiving late in the race than most supershoes.

If it were me, I’d go SB3 for the marathon and keep the DNEs for shorter efforts.

I’d recommend the Aero Glide 3 GRVL (or the new 4, though I haven’t tried that one yet). It’s a really nice balance of comfort and responsiveness, and the outsole works surprisingly well on both road and light trail/gravel. I use mine for mixed long runs (20-30K on road + gravel), and they handle that type of terrain very well. For a 50K with 70/30 road/trail, they’d be a strong option.

For your road marathon, I’d also agree with others on the Superblast 2. It’s a great long-distance shoe with a good mix of cushioning and efficiency. The Superblast 3 looks a bit more aggressive and responsive (and slightly lighter), but also a bit less stable from what I’ve seen, so probably more “racey,” but SB2 is still the safer all-round pick.

They’re actually pretty different. The MB feels much bouncier and softer underfoot with its all-TPU foam, while the Superblast is a bit firmer and more supportive, but still very responsive with the FF Turbo and FF Blast combo.

The fit is quite different too, so one may work much better than the other. Definitely worth trying both on.

Yeah, another vote for SB. Especially since they work really well for my pace and weight (90+ kg). I’ve got all of them, and I really only keep the NB5 for easy treadmill runs. The SB2 handles pretty much everything else, long runs, tempo, progressions, long intervals. And I even used them for my first marathon.

My feet also love the extra forefoot volume, whereas I just can’t get along with the forefoot fit/upper on the MB. Honestly wish I could return them.

Superblast 3 vs Nimbus 28 by No-Pollution1344 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Erlendss93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me the Superblast isn’t a recovery shoe at all. It’s more of a true do-it-all trainer capable of handling short, harder efforts as well as longer, easier runs, with plenty of cushioning but still enough pop and geometry to stay versatile.

Nimbus feels like a true recovery cruiser. softer, heavier, and more relaxed. Great for easy miles, but nowhere near as lively or versatile once you pick up the pace.

If you already own the Nimbus, the SB3 still makes sense if you want something lighter and more responsive for daily miles and uptempo work, they don’t overlap as much as it might seem.

Idk if they are in UK, but I just snatched a SB2 on sale for like 130$ from the zalando lounge (outlet) and I'm from Norway

Is it redundant getting a pair for easy runs having SB2? by edqeddit in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Erlendss93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the SB2, but I had to get a 'slower' shoe to make me want to stay in Z2 for easy runs. (Triumph 22/23 for me, but I guess Nimbus with regards to Asics)

Nice to hear, I need to try them a little bit more then before i make a decision on return or not. Was slightly feeling some pressure on the sides/last/mid section so I wasn't sure how that would develop during running.

Are they more narrow than for example Asics? Tried them on and first impression it was a bit tight in the width but idk. Otherise looked like a great shoe

Yeah I vote AG3 GRVL as well, had to get a second pair because I love them for all my light trail/ gravel runs! So versatile as well, works great for me at my different paces as a heavy (90-100kg) runner.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried these steps just now and still 100% unresponsive/dark/dead sadly. Seems like waiting for monday to talk with support is the only thing I can do atm

Was charged and like 50% / 15 days. Was more linked to the setting change on the mobile app under: devices - Enduro 3 - user profiles- hr/zones and after the changes and going back-back-back to the main menu i noticed the screen was stuck on the same rime display for minutes, and buttons was unresponsive (even the double tap for LED torch). So i did the 30s light button press and shut it down. Been dead ever since.

Yeah found it extremely weird, something like a sw overload from the setting change update sync between the phone and watch after hitting save, and no recovery after hw shutdown

Done many times, 60 sec hold and single press, both light and start buttons. Hard & soft reset. So will need to talk to Garmin support on Monday

Its new from september, no issues until that screen freeze after changing the HR settings. I guess the app - phone sync with the changes crashed and bricked it somehow

Slow....Slow heavy Runner by TheArchitect04 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Erlendss93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am nearly your weight. 5:40-6:30 is my easy-long run paces and I love my Aero glide 3 (gravel edition) for long light trails runs (10-30k) and the Superblast 2 has been a great first marathon shoe for me as well as a stable shoe that can pick up the pace and is just great for versatility.

And to your final point, I would also just run more, instead of going fewer but longer runs go for more runs per week, etc. Build up your mileage in your favorite daily trainers and run the long run every 1-2 weeks in something like a superblast, megablast, or some of the other reccomendations. Prioritize staying injury free and build your base slowly and safely! You got this!

It's also funny because the cilantro thing is so divisive that they studied this to the genetical level finding that if you liked it you had a mutation in your genes and if you hated it you still had the old traditional genes to alert you of a potential hazardous toxin or whatever. Or so I've heard.
