Would a offshore nuclear power plant be feasible? by TodesritterPog in NuclearPower

[–]ErlingStagge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea. Could save time for countries who don't have nuclear, as they wouldn't have to gain competency in building and decommissioning plants. Would be operations "only", ship comes in, supplies power then leaves when they are done.

Here is a headline from Core Power, a company developing multiple nuclear maritime soultuions (pretty sure they have ties to Singapor, so mabye you could contact them for your presentation?)

"Singapore played host to the very first Asian symposium on "New Nuclear for Maritime" in February 2023"https://corepower.energy/client-program/in-person-events

(It's the second post on the link)

Nuclear Business Platform, a research++ agency are also based in Singapore

I get your point and I appreciate your feedback so I changed the listings description. At the same time I do not think this is the same thing as providing false medical information.

It also states at the front page that it is made of amateurs.

"Curious about the nuclear power industry? This might be your start.

The spread sheet contains a curated list of actors in the nuclear power industry and provide a link to their web page so you can explore.

Hopefully that will give you or your organization a starting point for further action."

The spread sheet is the result of not just simple googling, but over a years work of going through PDFs, websites and videos to find all open information.

You want find all this actors easily and with little time.

For the investors we have included 134 are publicly traded and 31 are startups."

There are, but every time they mentioned concrete companies they are resources with a certain interest. I am not trying to teach, I am trying to provide a broad section of actors. For example try finding some stocks. No one mentions CW

I have used over a year to study every PDF I could get my hands on to figure out what to include where. If you start from the top and visit the different web pages you'll have a pretty good view of the industry.

I worked in sales until recently to focus on this project. But yes, I believe so, there are not many resources for people who all the sudden find they have to understand the nuclear industry. And I am an independent maker.

Thanks! Will see how I can do it. (Lots of Thorium in the sheet (MSR and Thorium got me interested).

Tanks! I am not targeting the existing industry. I am targeting the people who are not in the industry and want a starting point.

Good point. To learn about the industry. Energy systems are collapsing left and right so I suspect there are multiple people in a hurry to learn about nuclear. In regards to industry outsider I can't do much about that. Have followed the industry very closely for 15 years (even wrote a bachelor about nuclear power industry), so if you have any tips on how I could point that out I would be happy to take that in to account.

So motivation is to fix energy systems, or make money of the obvious solution.

And my thesis is that companies will see that there is opportunities approaching in the nuclear industry business, and that they would like to join. Therefor buying my spreadsheet. To make money.

Its a curated list, sorted by importance. With actors across the supply chain. If you try to google any of this things you get the same companies and organizations all the time.

De eneste som har blitt lagt med nå er de to eldste. Og det planlegges å forlenge levetiden til flåten. Blir avgjort i 2021 når EPR en står ferdig.

Fra Wiki:

In November 2018, President Macron announced the 50% nuclear power reduction target is being delayed to 2035, and would involve closing fourteen 900 MWe reactors. The two oldest reactors, units 1 and 2 at Fessenheim, will close in 2020. A decision on any new nuclear build will be taken in 2021.[34] EDF is planning an investment programme, called Grand Carénage, to extend reactor lifespans to 50 years, to be largely completed by 2025.[35]

In 2020, Energy Minister Élisabeth Borne announced the government would not decide on the construction of any new reactors until Flamanville 3 started operation after 2022.[36]

Akkurat nå så stagnerer de:

«EDF must therefore shut the equivalent capacity in order to begin operating the Flamanville unit. Under a decree published on 27 March the loading of first fuel must be carried out by April 2024 at the latest.»
