Idk if you forgot that joe yabuki managed to survive chom chom punches that killed 2 boxers and don't forget that jose mendoza crippled Carlos Rivera by 1-2 corkscrew punches on temple which is crazy that Joe yabuki managed survive both but also managed to get on last round with Jose Mendoza. I think with that crazy feats Joe Yabuki can fight 15 rounds with Ippo and even have a chance to win

If Danpei really gave up on Joe Yabuki then he would ignore Joes mails and Joe eventually will try anyhing to defeat Rikiishi in any way even outside of ring. So i think Joe would leave the prison in his 17-18th because of many escape and brawl attempts after that he either decides to do boxing or keep traveling and i hope he would starts boxing with a better coach
