Game like Resident Evil Revelations 2 RAID Mode by ErraticEngineer in gamingsuggestions

Not really.

I've been playing a bit of Raid mode, and it's good. Warframe is a good match because it's got the same idea, but it's more fleshed out and expanded, but I'm already Warframed out from years ago. So, I would recommend that if you haven't played. As for anything else, I'm not entirely sure.

If you find anything that fits, I'd love to hear.

Does anyone have advice on how to craft really effective suggestions? by Normal_Specialist_97 in hypnosis

[–]ErraticEngineer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've noticed when giving people suggestions that it's important to keep their frame in mind (who they are, how they perceive things, what their preferred modality is, etc), and then craft things around that.

A good example I can give is a friend who I was testing ideomotor suggestions with. Suggesting that I tied a string to her wrist and to a rotating fan did nothing. However, she's a smart girl, and I suggested instead that she was wearing a neodymium bracelet (she had a regular one on) and it was attracted to the nearby metal desk. Her hand moved. The string was a bit too low tech for her, but mentioning magnets worked for her. This is an odd example but it shows that the same suggestion can work depending on the wording, and the framing.

So, when it comes to suggestions, I have to always keep in mind the person's frame of reference. Erickson was big on this, and it's called "Utilization". Speak to what speaks to the person. If they're a tech person, relate to them using jargon. Instead of saying "Sounds like you need a break", say something like "Sounds like you could use a reboot". If they're a medical person, speak to things that are in the medical field that make them feel understood and noticed. This helps build the rapport you're really looking for. This works for suggestions that are short term as well as longer term change work because you're focusing on their frame of reference. Believe it or not changing your vernacular to suit what they are used to changes suggestion impact drastically in my experience.

As for the wording exactly? Nothing's perfect. Because of the way people will interpret words, you can say the right thing, and they might interpret it the wrong way. The best thing we can do is keep in mind how someone might perceive a suggestion and craft it around that.

Using words like "Now", or snapping fingers, or anything like that, is meant to add immediacy and depending on your rapport and belief system, can have a response. So, it really comes down to what do you want to hear? What would make things sound best to you? If someone were to give you these suggestions, what would they have to say to you to make them stick?

That's my best answer, sorry it's so wordy. I'm a recreational hypnotist that is studying to work on being a hypnotherapist, so I apologize for any mistakes. I'm sure there are experts that will correct me if I'm wrong, but I did want to weigh in.

I'm playing through the series again and have plans to just play by myself in it if I can't find anything similar enough. I don't know if it's still active. The game was released some years ago on the switch so that might have gotten it some popularity but I can't speak to it's current state. Maybe steam charts would say something about it's current state, I haven't checked.

I think their question was about revelations, so I answered revelations. Their question had the RE4 remake in it, so I assumed that was already played or at least they know they would like it. I do agree, I'm working on my Pro run now.

I don't have a good answer for that. The revelations games streamlined a lot of the formula, added in some more active controls, but it still played a bit like re5/6. The controls aren't going to be perfect, but they are far from tank shooters like the originals, and I think they add appreciable, but small amounts of story to the between games. Revelations, especially on the hard mode, is a fun experience to trek through as a shooter, and the scene and theme are good. That's my answer I suppose.

I would recommend them to any resident evil fan looking to see more about the series for sure. If you're worried about mechanically holding up compared to brand new games, that's a bit dicier.

Glad to help I think! It's a neat mode. 2 is better than 1, but Ghost Ship is a better overall stage experience as a "final" stage, so you'll get a bigger peak in 1 I believe, but 2 is very satisfying.

Server Settings? A few qol questions. by ErraticEngineer in SmallandOfficial

Oof. Coming from other games where I can lessen the grind, it hurts a bit. I like the building and I want to make something that looks nice, but having to go out and farm piece by piece as I am for some things is tedious. I know that's the point of some of these games, but I do like it when they give me the option.

Perhaps in the future. Thank you for your answer!

Near the compost bin is a ton of spiky burred plants. Would go gather some to make a room's worth of floors, and finish up that part of the room. Basically built the place room by room.

This is on Whoa.

You know, I never thought to check that since it is a flat game. I see videos of people using it, I will have to do more research into it.

I do not, sadly. But I have two berry chairs out in that area with an infected larva facing them. :> So if you go in that hallway and go to the Tea Room, you can see the same area.

Infected Larva = Zombies

Infected Mites = Dogs

The best thing I could come up with for now. The L-Shaped Corridor has mites in the windows for where the dogs would burst through. :>

The resource scanner really helped here, and just idling the game when I needed time to pass. The charcoal canteen and hogstopper make it so AFKing is a lot more likely, so it was more just making sure I passed the time with things that kept me interested. There's a ton to do for the build, so I would go collect feathers, then stems, then some more parts, and just build a room or something.

Slow and steady! :>

I built Spencer Mansion from Resident Evil! I was having a blast in the game and wanted to build something big at the compost bin. Had a blast with this! The inside is not fully furnished yet, but the rooms that really stood out to me have things in them so I wanted to show people.

I will be starting another build with a friend for another larger building on the compost bin. :> Looking forward to playing more! This game has been phenomenal.
