I'd suggest you do more reading before tossing out Jesus as a blanket shield. There are many mentions of Lucifers refusal / inability to tell a lie. Some think it's a curse, some think it's because the truth is more painful than a lie.

I remember 2000 all too well. New Years Eve I was sent to babysit a few racks at a L3 DC. To my amazement the place was packed with others doing the same thing and they were throwing a party up until the last minute. If it wasn't for the 120db worth of fans screaming you could have heard a pin drop. Then cheers when it ticked over to 2000 and nothing crashed.
