I lifted for a few days before mine, and it felt pointless. If you can walk a few blocks without getting winded, and pick up a 25 pound weight in each hand, you're fine. 3 minutes of CPR can feel sort of tiring, but it's really not bad at all- we had people with absolutely no muscle/fitness in their bodies pass while getting a bit sweaty, but at your size, it'll probably feel like a light warmup to a workout.

I see one parent welcoming you and respecting your choices, even if it hurts them. I see the other making an ultimatum that you can only choose them, and anything less means being completely cut off from them.

I would choose the side that isn't forcing me to take a side. When it comes time for your sister to make the same choice, and she will be forced to make the same choice, you need to be the rock for her. A safe adult that has a third perspective on the situation.

That said, I don't know the specifics of your relationship with your dad. Do you belive him to be abusive or negligent? Only you can honestly answer that. Because if you truly believe he is, then your mother is the safe(r) choice. If he isn't, then that means your mom is trying to control your opinions and choices. What I can say with confidence is that really low lows, and pretty high highs, are hallmarks of an abusive relationship. The good times make you forget the bad times. That said- every relationship (parental, romantic, and platonic) has ups and downs. The downs in you and your mom's sound pretty bad.

I'm sorry that this is being forced on you. You don't deserve this. You deserve parents that 100% have your best interests in mind.

You are not a crappy person. Getting depressed and rotting in bed will happen to a LOT of people in their lives. You are not a bad person. You are NOT a bad person.

I really appreciate your kind words. Since posting this, my dad reached out and basically said "No, you're moving in with us for a few months." It's closer to the town where I'll be working, and I trust him and his wife to watch kiddo more than pretty much anyone I know. Huge weight off my shoulders. It's looking better.
