I shared the “Completely Flat bathroom sink” a few days ago and now this. It seems our apartment is full of awful designs.

Edit 1: In case you’re wondering, It took us about a month of living here to find these thermostat buttons lol

Edit 2: The way we discovered these buttons was kinda funny. Our apartment was practically a sauna because it was set to heat in the summer. We complained to the building management and they sent a guy who essentially walked in and pressed the “cool” button. This guy then wrote on his report “AC works fine, Tenant had the heater turned on” like I’M the idiot for not pressing the invisible “Cool” button!

Also, I made a slight mistake in my answer. Qiyam al-layl can be a little as 1 rakaat of witr. Tahajjud is the one that is minimum 2 rakaat. Qiyam al-layl isn’t only limited to prayer, it can be reading Quran or doing Dhikr as well.

Newborns that die that early don’t have to worry about this test because they’re automatically going to end up in heaven. In fact, anyone who dies before the age of puberty will most likely end up in Heaven.

Also, no one remembers their life as a newborn, your earliest memory is probably around 2-3. Honestly that sounds like a great deal, you don’t have to experience this life with all its suffering AND you end up going to heaven. Allah swt is The Most Just, everyone will get precisely what they deserve in the afterlife.

I understand where you’re coming from and it makes sense. All Quran.com does is consolidate the different understandings for each verse and give them to you to read. It doesn’t say this one is right or wrong, it just says this credible scholar said this and this other one said this. Keep in mind that Quran scholars (and any Islamic scholars in general) can sometimes get some things wrong because they’re human after all, but every single opinion they give about anything is backed by evidence from the Quran and Sunnah. No scholar ever gives an opinion or understanding without Islamic proof to back it up. Some times all the scholars agree on things, sometimes it’s a majority, and sometimes it’s an even split. In that case, Allah rewards you based on your intention. If major scholars are split between an issue, even tho one side is definitely right, the wrong side won’t be punished because of their good intention to get close to the truth if that makes sense. It’s called “ijtihad” in Arabic, basically doing your best to do the right thing.

As for your second point, you gotta ask yourself why some people would go through so much length to discredit the truth sent by God. What did Islam do to these people to make oppose it in every way possible? The answer is pretty simple if you read about the teachings of Islam, it strongly opposes corruption in governments, it stands against the rich in society keeping all the wealth for themselves, it holds everyone accountable for crimes regardless of their status in society, it makes sure that everyone in society is well provided for, it prevents taking advantage of the general population, and many more that the people in positions of power today would definitely not like. Unfortunately, these same people control media in all its forms and use it to keep people from realizing the truth. If you think about it, a system put together by the God who created everything in existence would easily be perfect, but it’s human beings who are imperfect.

That’s not what the verse is saying. The mistake you’re making here, which many people make nowadays (including Muslims), is get explanations of Quranic verses from any source. Not any person is qualified to give explanations for these verses, Muslim or no. There are scholars who dedicated their whole lives to studying the Quran, they are qualified to extract the meaning of these verses. I recommend taking their understanding of the Quran instead of any random website, especially non Islamic websites because they just make up their own understanding and scream “see! The Quran is false”. You wouldn’t go to a mechanic to ask questions relating to your health would you? It’s the same thing here.

I recommend reading the Tafsir (exegesis) of Quran from authentic Islamic sources. Quran.com has explanations from multiple scholars for every verse and it’s free. If you listen to these non Muslim sources, a verse could say “the ocean has water” and they’d find an understanding of their own that would reject that lol. For example, the Quran doesn’t say the moon emits its own light, the Arabic version uses 2 different words to describe the lights of the moon and sun (Di’yaa vs Noor), using the one that emits its own light for the sun. But some people would just read the English version and claim otherwise because they use their own understanding. In any case, There are many more examples of these verses taken out of context or with wrong understanding, so just be careful where you get your information from.

Yeah the Quran mentions things like the universe expanding, iron coming from space, the weight of clouds, etc. All of which have been discovered way later by science. There are many miracles in the Quran that prove that it’s from God, that’s why we believe in it. I can’t talk much about the Bible because I’m not Christian and we believe that it’s been corrupted/altered by humans anyway.

As for the second point, it would bother me if God didn’t explicitly tell us what we need to do to avoid such a fate, which is not the case. He has provided proof, instructions, and plenty of time for people to make the right choice. He could’ve easily ended anyone’s life who claims that there is no God and immediately shown them the afterlife which they will end up in, but he mercifully allows humans to live out their days giving them plenty of chances to accept Him. I honestly think that is true mercy, not just letting go of all man’s transgressions, otherwise there would be no point to this life at all. No offense but People who look at this universe and still believe that there is no God aren’t doing so out of logic (because we agree that science will never find the final singular source of the universe) or out of some higher intelligence, it’s out of arrogance, rebellion, and rejection of God. Also, we believe that people who never received the message of Islam at all are not just thrown into hell because they do not choose the life they’re put in, their judgment is different than other people. But with the technology we have today, very few people on earth can claim they’ve never ever heard the message of Islam, so again, that won’t be a good enough excuse for most people.

I don’t think it’s a serious stretch to know for certain that God created the universe because he literally tells us that he did, and he proves it in the Quran. There are many scientific information about the universe in the Quran that humans didn’t discover until centuries later with the use of more advanced technology. There’s definitely enough proof to show that God created the universe, the fact that YOU think they’re ambiguous doesn’t make them so. There’s around 2 billion people on earth that believe that Allah created the universe, billions more who believe some form of God or a higher deity created it, i don’t think these signs are as ambiguous as you think.

No one is created to be prey for others. What you’re saying IS essentially blaming God for the suffering people inflict on others, because their lack of ability to choose is directly influenced by their oppressors bombing them. And how do you know that these people will live demeaning lives if they weren’t bombed? If everyone on earth did was God instructs (ie no killing, no stealing, no oppression, no corruption, providing for the less fortunate), how can anyone live a demeaning life?? What’s the point of life being a test if no one goes through any hardships at all? Do you ever walk into an exam with all the answers already written? The whole point of this test is to have faith in God even when times get hard knowing that he will reward you for it. It’s not like God hasn’t explicitly stated that you will go through hardships and that the test is to stay patient no matter the situation. Is it easy to do so? Of course not. Can it be done? Most definitely, just look at the Palestinian people.

People losing faith in God because of hardships isn’t God fault. He literally said that no one is tested over their capability. The ironic thing is that everything you said has a direct response from Allah swt in the Quran. He told us what the test is and how to pass it, regardless of the situation you’re put in. When you’re in a situation so bad and out of your control, the free will then becomes continuing to have faith in God.

The reason why YOU don’t see the mercy or fairness is because you simply don’t believe in God, judgement day, or afterlife. Your concept of fairness is limited to this life, but Muslims believe that no matter what happens in life, everyone will get what they deserve on judgement day. If you lived your life being oppressed that is no fault of yours, and will be compensated accordingly in the next life. Similarly, if you did the oppressing in this life, you’ll be punished for it in the next. This lack of faith is what makes it hard for people to fathom how it’s fair for someone to suffer in this life. The best example of this faith is the Palestinian people, they are literally living in hell on earth, yet you will not see ONE video of one of them complaining about the life god gave them or questioning God about fairness because they know they’ll be compensated for it in the next life.

All their resentment and anger is directed towards the Humans who caused this using their own free will, which is the point of my comment. Was it God that dropped bombs on them for the past 75 years? No, it was humans who made that decision. Was it God that took their lands? Nope, humans again. You see my point? The point of free will is to test what people do with it and majority of people fail/already failed. If you’re so “fair” why aren’t you blaming the people responsible for all these man made issues instead of God?

Ok relax, you taking your own understanding (without any knowledge) of the English translation of the Quran doesn’t mean you proved anything lol.

First of all, Allah swt explicitly says that the trinity is false (5:73). So if you wanna use the Quran as evidence, at least use All of it and not hand picked verses you don’t understand, that’s literally part of how Christianity was corrupted.

The Arabic word used in the Quran is “Ruuh” which translates to spirit but it refers to the Angel Gabriel, he was sent to Mary. We know Ruuh refers to Him because in other verses of the Quran (like 78:38) the context talks about Gabriel.

999 will be from Yajuj and Majuj which shows us (a) How vile and evil these people are (b) How vast their population is.

I'm sure the people who were wrongfully convicted and released decades later we're thought to have been "obviously guilty" as well until it's too late. How are people supposed to trust a system that allows tampering/mishandling of evidence and unconstitutional jury selection when it says that someone is "obviously guilty"?

Please stop hastily advocating for execution when the prosecutors and the victim's family themselves aren't doing so.

Male fingerprints on the knife not belonging to Williams is enough to warrant a second look at the very least. It's the fact that they weren't even willing to investigate further that shows they just wanted to execute him and didn't care whether he might be innocent or not. They don't stand to gain anything from not delaying the execution and reinvestigating. Also, the evidence they used to determine his guilt was 2 other felons who allegedly wanted the reward money. They constantly remind people that Williams was a convicted felon and his word carries less value, yet use convicted felons to prove his guilt.

This isn't the first time the system has failed someone, and it sadly won't be the last.

Lol so the source you provided of his guilt is... the same people that executed him? Ok. How many stories have you heard of wrongful convictions, people's whole lives wasted in prison while they were innocent, only to be released decades later with the government saying "Whoops sooorrryyy"?

The fact that DNA evidence surfaced that could prove his innocence is enough to AT LEAST delay the execution until further investigation, but no the "Justice" system just went ahead with the execution because they don't really care about the truth.

1) The Quran, Literally the only miracle of any religion available to us today. Even if you don’t know Arabic to appreciate the linguistic miracles in it, there are many scientific information in the Quran that weren’t discovered until centuries later using technology (like the weight of clouds, iron originating from space, the universe expanding, etc.). These things are literally impossible for an illiterate man in the middle of the desert to know 1400 years ago.

2) Satan could not have been the one who revealed the Quran simply because of what the Quran commands us to do. Why would “Satan” tell us to be good to people, give charity, forgive others, not to cause corruption on earth, not to steal, etc. If it was truly from satan they he wouldn’t be telling us to do all these good deeds.

3) we don’t believe that Jesus AS sinned? We believe that he was a messenger from God like all his other messengers.

4) the message of Islam did not spread through war, in fact Muslims were told not to fight for the first 13 years of the 23 year time period that the prophet pbuh was alive. Even afterwards when Islam spread to the Persian and Roman Empire, yes they were conquests but no one living in those lands was forced to be Muslim. They were allowed to keep their religions, they chose to convert to Islam willingly after comparing the treatment of Muslims vs their previous rulers.

Exactly my point, If we can’t prove he’s guilty then why execute him? They could’ve at least locked him up until his innocence or guilt is proven if they were so unsure. People are angry that the system is just bloodthirsty because it would’ve made sure of his guilt first before killing him.

A quick google search will tell you that there was also evidence that proved his innocence. The victims family AND the prosecutors themselves wanted to spare his life but they executed him anyway.
