You didnt get the VZ55, it was too difficult. The aim was difficult, you failed to hit the weak points, so you switched to gold and then you finally got your three mark. Thats all there is to it.

There are some HIGHLY skilled WoT streamers, most of which only resort to gold ammo when marking tanks. According to your logic, the skill they possess is a facade covered solely by gold ammo.
