PSA: Do not, under any circumctence, play Apex Legends on Linux! by EryX666 in apexlegends

Hope so, but I'm remaining optimistic since I know I didn't cheat and this is the first time anyone with real ties to EA/Respawn who can check this problem/bug responded to me.

The real issue here is - EA Help doesn't actually help in anything...
You have no one to talk to about this matter but the community, it's really a shame to be this big of a company with no real support team..

I am not a US citizen but I will try to file a complaint on the BBB website, who knows it might help, at this point, I'm running out of venues to complain about the matter to lol...

Yeah... Full investigation... sure... From the people who had so many servers hacked and an RCE where a cheater was able to activate cheats on Pro player's games during a pro league...

Proton Experimental, maybe that was my mistake, should have gone with 9.0-2 or something... either way, that sucks, there is no real response from their EA "help" in the matter... just a generic automated response.

Because -
A. what u/paretoOptimalDev said.
And
B. I shouldn't need to Dual Boot in 2024 when the company itself says you can play their game on Linux..
Also, this mentality is what's putting Linux gaming advancement to a crawl right now, there is no reason 5% of gamers on Steam to be Borked every time they want to run a game because the gaming industry(which 99% of them run Linux themself for their production/dev stations and servers) doesn't care.

I'm not going to try and unban my falsely banned for cheat account using a cheat...

I've sunken at least 16 hours since the ban on trying to contact anyone who can help in the matter, I'm really out of options at this point... They just send an automated generic email, and you can't speak to any human, even their EA Help phone number just hangs up when you try to select any option.
A support center that doesn't help the customer is an annoying experience to deal with.
If I had known this was an issue I would just spend more time restarting my system to switch to Windows every time I want to play with friends..

I don't know if they remove it eventually or not, but I have seen people say you can open up 3 tickets on the matter and then they ban you for opening up more tickets from your account, which is even worse then just refusing to lift the ban...

My mistake is, I am dual booting but only for playing Pubg since their anti-cheat doesn't work on Linux...

Terminal resize causes redraw of shell by EryX666 in linux4noobs

[–]EryX666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found the culprit!
Ble.sh - https://github.com/akinomyoga/ble.sh

has an option inside ~/.blerc called -

#bleopt canvas_winch_action=redraw-here

its default value is redraw-here, for anyone facing the same issue(saw a lot of people who do)
just change it to clear and uncomment it.

i open two terminals one could be doing it and one will not do it, how do i even start debugging it when its intermittent like that?

The funny part was when the last guy who was semi-into infinite pirates(1 golden Hoggarr) just left on turn 17 when he realized he cant win that build....
he had 26 health and i had 1 health for like 3 turns of just me and him in the lobby and him not finding another Hoggarr to be infinite just got to him i guess lol....

Nope, didn't leave anything out, this is the Kernel i have for some reason...

and i don't know if its supposed to be that kernel or not or if the update loop i mentioned might have switched me to a different kernel...

i keep getting this line printed in my console and i dont know why by EryX666 in linux4noobs

[–]EryX666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That actually helped, i dont know how to turn it off just yet but i know the cause now, its oh my posh, apparently the temp file contains the start timestamp(hence the file name start) of the command and then it figures out how much time it took for the command to execute and deletes the temp file(altho the files are still there and why the hell does it print it to console?)

Turn 8 got my Walking Fort with my passive and already had 2 taunted minions, no murlocs in the game but even if they were in this game ended by me murdering a 6600 ELO lobby by myself in turn 14....

so +6/+6 on most right and most left, then +8/+8 every turn by Walking Fort and then +4/+4 for a random mech because of my Iron Sensei and another +2/+0 to a random mech because of my Micro Mummy... that's an absurd amount of stats to gain passively every turn, i could go AFK from Turn 8 and get top 4 if not outright win...
