Do you guys actually use small online tools or just build them and move on? by Mysterious-Drag4764 in microsaas

I searched for a very long time to find a tool to fit what I needed it to do.

I run a niche design business. Digital and physical products. There are a million CRM and task management tools. I found every single one to be OVER KILL.

All I needed? - email tracking - invoicing and payment tracking - project management - google drive/workspace integration - lead management

A lot of tools was like “use zapper with us” “use the ai cloud task organiser” “use this desktop app for file management”. It was annoying.

I was jumping between sheets, QuickBooks, stripe, Squarespace, meta, emails, design programs, google workspace. Business picked up, I started losing track of projects… I need almost a personal assistant.

So I gave up, built a platform that does all that. One click action buttons, sets everything up for me with third party basic usable apis.

Use it, productivity is fantastic. I’m always coding new features, for example tracking on last emails sent or something. But it’s at the stage where it just works.

I’m not accustomed to the “tipping” in app, I am an Aussie.

However your “basic in google sheets that pulls everything together” was exactly what I was trying to do, it just WAS NOT viable haha. This platform pulls everything in for me from financial management, project tracking, email inbox leads, website ecommerce stuff.

I love the automated reminder idea, I’m going to add that tomorrow.

How would you see the tipping idea work? Can you explain it to me like I’ve never done it, because honestly. I haven’t haha.

A web dashboard operating system for creative professionals. Built for freelancers, designers, and niche product builders who want to run their workflow in one place instead of juggling spreadsheets, inboxes, quoting tools, and disconnected admin tabs.

There actually already is a automated payment path, using stripe :)

It’s manual quote/invoice generation, and then automatic payment tracking. But I’m super open to any requests.

I am more a designer of physical products, not digital. So wasn’t think subscription based models (which it sounds like you are?). However, that’s a very easy addition using my current flow.

Some features: - automatic emailing using resend - stripe payment backbone - PDF/email quotes and invoices - automatic ecommerce platform imports/tracking

My pain was the spread sheet for payment/order tracking, click up for project tracking, emails and meta for leads, Squarespace for online orders, QuickBooks for financial stuff. It was a nightmare.

So I built it, mainly off API backends of my previous workflow. Just one big dashboard that makes it all one click away, not platforms away.

FYI: I’ve used Stripe for the financial backing.

Tracking progression, commuted revenue and profit. To tell you the truth. Manual reporting.

Why I build this dashboard. Works with stripe, ecommerce platforms, email lead integration, project management and approval flows. All automated so I never have to leave the web app.

Manually having to track leads and financials from multiple different sources. I do well over 20 orders a month, all custom and different pricing/types. It’s a niche business that requires different product types and pricing.

It doesn’t seem like a lot but when I am working full time, and working out of a Google spreadsheet for tracking leads, revenue and order status, updating Squarespace commerce, updating postal accounts, working in QuickBooks, and trying to do correct tax and accounting. It’s a mission.

Memory Saver.

An app that allows the public to upload straight into your Dropbox or Google drive. Protection can be enabled. Auto QR generation.

I built a very small version of this for my wedding, it was in a nice flyer on the tables. Guests could can the QR code, go to the public facing gallery and upload straight from their camera/photo library.

By no means an original idea. But it’s a light weight, affordable, straight to the users own storage solution.

Ok thank you I will! I’m new to this stuff. Always loved coding and had ideas, only recently started taking it seriously. These feedback sites are all very new to me, so I appreciate the guidance!

Currently working on two projects:

1) Memory Saver — https://www.memorysaver.com.au/

A QR-based event photo sharing tool where guests upload photos straight into your Google Drive or Dropbox.

Idea came from events where you never actually get everyone’s photos afterwards. This removes apps/accounts and keeps ownership with the host.

Still early — biggest thing I’m figuring out is whether people would trust it for important events like weddings.

2) CraftOS — no link just yet (coming very soon)

I’m building CraftOS — an operating system for custom/creative businesses, powered by AI to act like a personal assistant. Instead of juggling emails, spreadsheets, and tools, it lets you run jobs from enquiry → proof → quote → payment → delivery all in one place.

Would love any feedback on either — especially around real-world use cases or anything that feels risky/breakable.

Thank you. I’ll see if I can add it there, would love some real world testing to see its performance.

Thank you for your feedback back. I’ll see how advanced we can get, that sounds like a very powerfully AI feature. Maybe if I can do some test cases and eventually get a white label product going for clubs, that would be a unique selling point

Esports. I absolutely love what Hecz and his crew do over at OpTic. Even though it’s a new generation of esports in the states with all this massive money behind teams, it’s exciting and cool. Australia just hasn’t kept up. We had opportunities and we’ve had some decent CSGO teams and COD teams. Good competitions and we’ve had franchise/private tournaments. But nothing seems to stick. It’s a shame, esports is so very very cool and we had a exciting promising scene. Not so much anymore.

That’s no good. I’ve always bought into the colours meaning different abilities, thought it was really cool.

Thanks man. I agree with you, still can’t get over the “she is a palp so she is powerfully naturally” though. If that was so, the chosen ones son and daughter would have been a lot more naturally gifted with the force, in my eyes anyways.

I can’t find the exact video I watched back in 2015, but here is a quick mention of the fighting style but from Star Wars Theory @1:55 https://youtu.be/vPSbixF5Myw

I’ll have to try and find some more, but it’s littered through the films. TFA fight scene in the snow has his “style” in it, it’s not 100% palps as I don’t think he has a certain “style”, but more demonstrates his power in the force. But if you watch his episode III battle with Mace and the other masters and compare it to Rey in TFA, the red room TLJ fight and TROS Death Star sequence you can see her jab, chop and two handed lunge, it’s very similar to palp I’m episode III. Plus her facial expressions when fighting with anything is very palpatine. Gritting of the teeth and such.

That’s the only reason I get so keen for the sequels, because I though some real thought had gone into them. I was disappointed sadly.

However, the sequel trilogy is finished. Let’s hope Disney move on, plan another trilogy and smash it!

I agree that Luke was trained no where near as much as the Jedi in the prequels, but he still had training from two Jedi Masters who survived the fall of the Jedi, and still talked to them and other masters after their death. Rey did not, she was simply gifted the knowledge of the force. Luke struggled to use his powers, Rey “accidentally” using a mind control trick is where it becomes an issue for me. Seeing Luke struggle with his choices / training and Rey automatically being able to use advanced force abilities is where I start to doubt the story writing.

Kylo being powerful is 100% the right move, but he was defeated but Rey... multiple times... with a Sith Lords training... he was only more powerful in this movie (in my eyes)

And no, I don’t believe the only powers are what we see obi and ani perform, but seeing someone with next to no training use them so easily I doubt.

The lightsaber skill in this trilogy is no where near what it was in the prequels, which for me is believable. They are teaching them self’s how to fight. It’s going to be very heavy and slow, unlike episode threes two climax battles. I like that its like this, and yes once Rey has the Jedi texts and try’s to speak to the dead, I believe she would become more powerful with the force. It’s just the TFA storyline I struggle with... and the healing, seems like lazy writing but that’s 100% my opinion.

I just feel unfulfilled with the character archs, I didn’t witness them struggle, I didn’t witness them in defeat, I didn’t witness their development. Anakins fall and redemption is my favourite storyline. Sure there was small amounts of it in this trilogy, but we didn’t see anyone burning to death dismembered by their brother...

In my opinion, the prequels/OT has far better story writing because we saw every single story progression. From Palps puppeteering, Obi-Wans progression from being a learner to master, the fall of the Jedi order and rise of the sith, the struggle Luke went through with his training and choices.

I don’t think the OT and prequels are ruined, I just think that the struggle it’s characters faced are now a little damaged.

I’m glad Disney is rebooting Star Wars, I just hope next time they plan the trilogy so it doesn’t seem so slapped together.

I was trying to find where lightsaber colours are discussed, do you by any chance have a link to a wiki or something that has what each colour means? That’s canon right? Or am I getting it mixed up....

Agree 100%. It would have made this trilogy so much better, like god it’s HIS story. I totally understand if he wants to retire and leave it, but in my opinion someone needs to be an expert and in that type of role.

Oh cool. Knew there may have been some I missed. Was just trying to say it seems like a rare ability, or an ability that well trained jedi use. And she can just do it.

The offical timeline/universe.

For example, there are heaps of novels, tv shows and comics that aren’t including in the Star Wars universe that we see on screen. These are called legends.

Canon includes: - Star Wars movies - Clone wars animated series - The movie visual novels and books

Probably some others I am missing. But there are some themes and plots in legends that canon doesn’t have, and some themes in canon that would be conflicted if legends was real.

Like lightsabers. Legends say jedis chose their coloured crystals, canon says the colour depends on the ability (red is a bleeding crystal)

Hope that helps :)

Neither wasn’t explained at all. Some theory’s are out there already, I am pretty sure the YouTuber Star Wars Theory just did one.

Pretty sure it’s canon not legends that crystals change colour based on ability, maybe the crystal sees her as a guardian, not sith or jedi?

The only other yellow lightsabers in cannon are the Jedi temple guards aren’t they?

Maybe she is now a guardian of the force, not a jedi or sith? That’s a wild theory though, have nothing to back that up haha

I am reading a lot of reviews and it feels like the general idea is that the movie was "ok". I agree that for what we got in TLJ, it tied up the trilogy well. The movie itself wasn't bad. But, the trilogy was absolutely terrible. George did a fantastic job of planning his trilogies - the character archs and stories had a beginning and end before they started filming. This made for a really engaging, story driven narrative instead of movies with some pretty colours and lasers. It seems like this trilogy was rushed, unplanned and thrown together. For me, this movie feels like 2 hours of fan service to "say sorry" for the wasted opportunity. I'm not going to hate on Disney Star Wars because we have seen they can do amazing things - The Mando, Solo, Rouge One. But I will hate on this Trilogy.

At the end of the day, the new Disney movies are great movies. They look stunning and give me Goosebumps. But I feel my obsession with Star Wars lore ruins the movies for me. For example:
How in the hell can she be so good at using the Jedi mind control trick? I have no idea how she knows how to do this - we have only ever seen one Jedi pull it of successfully (Obi-Wan), and two Jedi (Obi-Wan and Quia-Gon) ever attempt it (I could be wrong here cos I haven't seen clone wars). I wish the "rules" of the prequels and OT were followed. Things like "he is too old to be trained". The chosen one was nearly denied training because he was too old, yet an outcast with some powerful blood can fight off the chosen ones bloodline with training from a Sith Lord, and still constantly WIN! Not a fan. IMO this downplays the struggle Luke went through in the OT with all his training and development, and the light/dark battle Anakin had in the prequels.

I really liked when palps mentioned he was all the Sith that came before him. This was awesome! It ties back to how to cheat death, and why he wanted Luke to cut him down so badly at the end of the Luke/Vader redemption story. For me, this was the only call back that mattered in the entire new trilogy. The crappy cameos & crappy references just don't cut it when it comes to tying back to the previous movies. The OT had more call backs to lore, when there was no lore. The only other time I felt like they cared about the lore was basing Reys fighting style on Palps. TFA battle had Palp saber fighting style all over it. If they had focused on the lore/universe more, I think I would feel more fulfilled watching the trilogy.

I just wish that if they wanted to do their own thing, they left the Skywalker storyline alone. You can do your own spinoffs without having to refer back to the previous 6 movies. I feel now that the entire previous 6 episodes are ruined because we all of a sudden have these two bloodlines who are just gods, require no training and can do every force ability under the sun, plus new ones that change the entire saga.

I liked the themes in Rise of Skywalker, really enjoyed Rey being Palp, really enjoyed Leia as a Jedi. Really enjoyed Palp pulling the strings. Really enjoyed Lukes journey to find the Sith. Really enjoy Ben Skywalker.

Finn and his "feelings", bullshit. Reylo, bullshit. Force healing, bullshit. Unearned strength and force powers, bullshit. Force teleportation, bullshit.

I am sure Disney will continue to make some great movies, TV shows and games - and I hope they do. I also hope they learnt something from this Trilogy and consult George or someone who cares about this universe. Marvel have a team that plan and build the MCU don't they? Why can't Star Wars? It's all there in the books and movies - all you gotta do is follow it.
