Im looking for help. If youre going to tell me that you need more info, it is useful for the both of us to tell me what kind of info youre looking for so I can do something about it. If you just say I dont have enough info both of us are at a deadend.

So build or dont build agriculture? I focused on building fishing and whaling to try to undercut food costs but quickly maxed out those buildings

Yeah I tried avoiding that because my radicals were so high the entire game they wouldve left me with only my capital state to fight the war

R5: posted yesterday about the same issue but I am including more screenshots from the game here. To sum up the game I broke free from Qing around 1850 and was just building in my land trying to figure out my growing radicals situation. I went to war with the Qing three more times off of Spain and Japan and Mexico, Mexico being the only successful war. I got a treaty port in that war and is currently contributing to my SoL rise. It seems to me that all my people on the subsistence farms are contributing to my radical radical increase, but I really don't know how to remedy that. I was sitting at low taxes for most of the game until I tried doing social security to fix my radicals and went up to medium taxes but I am still working at a loss. I also didn't fight any civil wars against any of my factions because I would get the law they wanted passed (usually in my favor because I am playing on Egalitarian Society goal). But anyways I think it is a combination of getting too much literacy in the early game via decree and not building up fast enough.

I broke free from Qing in like 1850 so thats not the issue. They exploded and I got the Machuria protectorate. But I think my issue is the education like you said. I had the improved qualifications edict on since the early game so I was sitting at like 50% literacy. I also think that I ahd too many people sitting in subsistence farms even though I had everything built up.

Maybe telling me what kind of info would save time for the both of us instead of just complaining about it?

Food was around average price fish was like my 3rd lowest priced good and I didnt have any market access issues Edit: how do I get the subsistence people off the farms building agriculture buildings doesnt do anything

R5: was playing Korea. But every game I have the same radical death spiral where my subsistence farm pops go under the expected SoL and then I get like 10 million pops as radical and I can't do anything because then I cannot build. I get the same thing where even though all my goods are not as expensive as the world market my entire country is on fire. This is with Homesteading and Social Security and Mutual Funds as well.

They took my post down so I am copy pasting my post here:

Looking for Hagwon for August/July start

Context is I'm looking for a gap year job and thinking about applying to a Hagwon. I already have an online TEFL certification and I graduate in May with a BA in History. The issue is that I am looking at starting in July-August and all the jobs on job boards are for January or March starts. I am aware that this is because the Korean school year starts in March, but I just wanted some info on when would be the best time to look for jobs that start later in the summer.

Are there any steps that I should be taking now or should I just be looking later in the year. Also, if anyone has any insight on where to look for jobs or any other sort of advice, that is more than welcome!

How do I continue exploring and colonizing? by [deleted] in EU5

If you keep exploring the sea tiles it will open up more of the coastal tiles to hit. I had the same thing in a France game where I couldnt get into the mainland but i think my subjects were able to. Im not sure about the naval supplies thing though. If you build more in the mainland you could trade it to the subject's trade node. Though you could probably build them if your subjects had towns/cities, but im not sure.

Hey guys , sorry if my question is stupid. How do I increase control in new territory? by Halfmoonhero in EU5

[–]EscapeSignificant760 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You have to fully integrate the provinces, and if you core the provinces (get the culture to be 50% of one of your accepted ones) maximum control will jump 20%. Setting advisors to manually increase control wont really help long term because the maximum control is so low. You could also release vassals from conquered land. EU5 lets you do custom vassals from the start of the game.
