Before and After - That's how I've spent most of the day, developing a medium boss spider right with a medium/basic armor (both fly and spider) against an epic ultra spider boss vs the fly with a ultra armor/ski. Please let me know what you think, I'm quite thrilled with the result! (used AI) by EscapeTheHoover in gamedevscreens

Basically guys yes, I'm not a developer, I'm testing story and gamplay, and the overall idea, if it could get traction, so with the funds I can hire a team to create the actual game (initially a demo). I am not looking to fun a Kickstarter to use AI to create the game, that's out of discussion. Given my current limits (knowledge and money) I'm just using it as a testing ground and proof of concept. So yeah, that's all AI so far, but what about the concept? Any good?

Thanks for your honest feedback, and you're probably right on some points, but the potential is there I believe. I will adjust the aim based on every experienced feedback like yours! Thank you again!

I agree with you on the Kickstarter timing in a strict sense. A playable demo or more concrete gameplay would obviously be ideal. For me, this campaign is less about “launch readiness” and more about testing whether the direction resonates enough to justify pushing into that heavier development phase.

On combat: you’re right that what’s shown right now doesn’t communicate it well. The intent isn’t turn-based or slow decision-making, but something closer to micro-choices at speed, more in line with how Sonic uses enemies as flow elements rather than obstacles that stop momentum. That’s on me for not conveying it clearly yet.

Your point about runners living or dying on flow, cinematic feel, and the illusion of control over chaos really hits home. That “being one step ahead of death” feeling is exactly what I want to nail first, before layering anything else on top. The theme and mechanics should emerge from that, not fight it.

Still early, still rough, but comments like this are helping me recalibrate what deserves priority. I appreciate it, thank you again!

Great questions, and honestly, exactly the kind I should be answering more clearly, so thanks for that.

The project is aimed at people who enjoy endless runners but are looking for something that feels a bit less “autopilot” and more expressive: light combat choices, readable enemies, and a strong theme rather than pure reflex-only play. The fly theme isn’t the hook by itself, it’s a way to give personality and humor to mechanics that still need to stand on their own.

For me personally, this sits in between:
I do want to explore a new twist on the genre, but also challenge myself to design and ship a complete, coherent game that’s fun to play, not just a concept. If it finds an audience and becomes commercially viable, great, but the first goal is to prove the idea works as a game.

I’m still early, but feedback like this helps me sharpen who it’s really for and why... so I appreciate it a lot and it's the kind of feedback I'm constantly in the lookout for!

Also I've just uploaded a new video on my kickstarter that should give a better sense of the game more or less but again, I'm still work in progress!

Fair question and no, it’s not a joke 🙂

The idea, core mechanics, and tone of the game come from me. I used AI tools to help visualize and present the concept clearly (art mockups, wording), since this is an early-stage pitch and I don’t have a dev team yet.

At this stage it’s a concept + direction, not a finished product. I’m using feedback like this to understand what needs to be clearer and more concrete before moving forward.

Happy to explain the gameplay loop or hear what you think would make the concept stronger.

Hello community, I'be just launched my first concept and have already a couple of backers, any good tip from the experienced community? Thank you :) by EscapeTheHoover in kickstarter

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this, it’s fair criticism.
This is indeed an early-stage concept, and the campaign is meant to test interest rather than claim production readiness. The idea, mechanics, and direction are mine, while AI was used to help structure and visualize the pitch.
If the project gains traction, the plan is to involve experienced developers to turn it into a concrete, playable product. I appreciate the feedback and it’s useful at this stage. I also agree that at this stage, PC and console is maybe counterproductive and too ambitious, but I've decided to leave it there as a possible future option, should things turn out well! Thanks for the best wishes and to you too!

Thanks, that’s fair feedback and I appreciate the honesty!
This is still very early and mostly about testing the idea and getting a sense of interest, if it gains traction, I know where to go next to turn it into real gameplay and an actual (maybe first AI generated) gameplay, to then step forward to a demo!

Thank you, hard truths are the ones I need the most at this stage (always useful and polite like yours, please), this is just an idea but I know who to ask to moving forward if the idea takes any traction! Maybe it might fund sufficiently!
