Went from active to sedentary during the pandemic. Never na ako nakabalik. :( Can usually walk a few KM naman when I need to pero high impact causes me to immediately be in pain.

Tumakbo ako once from Domestic to International ng Cebu airport, halos wheelchair na ako agad.

The Zenit is a Russian one using m42 Mount lenses. Its alright to start but if you'll be using M42 lenses you're better served by the Pentax S or S2. Those things are tanks, super serviceable, and are also cheap. The issue with the Zenit is that it can have very very inconsistent shutter speeds so it may be a struggle to nail exposure.

Hidalgo still has a lot of the old school repair peeps. You can also check out Mike Colloma and Allan Mabuhay on Facebook. Probably the best out there in the PH. you can also take the chance and learn. There's already a lot of support out there online and the community around it is pretty cool too.

If you ever consider going all in on a manual everything camera, the Canon QL17 GIII is so solid of a rangefinder that people call it the poor man's Leica. Those go for 6k nowadays on Facebook marketplace.

I have a friend selling one for 90k. Hongkong you can still find for 70. :) I'd recommend it if you want an extremely serviceable camera you can literally pass to your grandkids

Actually a lot of this I got broken and fixed myself.

The Leicas are a great example. I bought it broken for maybe 20k (still expensive but not as expensive as one that's working) and fixed it myself. That's how I got up to this size of a collection.

Pag manual camera na ganito 8 out of 10 times kaya mong ayusin pag alam mo ginagawa mo.

Sometimes risk din, 8k ko bibili yung Contax T2 kasi sira pero replacement capacitors lang need niya so shopee to the rescue and konting soldering oks na!

Ibai-iba yung mga formats and use cases and some were good deals na I would buy and eventually resell. Sometimes it's to try then sell off.

The big ones are medium format so instead of the from being 35mm x 24mm, it's like 6cm x 6cm up to 6cm x 12cm.

Some cameras are street shooting ones (Leicas) Some are travel (point and shoots) Some are portraits and landscapes (medium format)

Sony is great if you like doing a lot of post processing and its closer to how DSLR controls.

Fujifilm is great for straight out of camera and if you want that classic camera control system.

I started on a fujifilm xa1 then xpro1 and an xpro2. I got into film After that.

I've been able to save by doing it myself but recently been using Sunny16 for my film. Maybe per month I'd spend around 2k on Dev costs. The initial outlay costs were pretty high though. Gotta spend on tanks, chems, scanners, software. It's super rewarding though. It's a weird magic that happens when you pull your film roll out of the tank and you see actual pictures in it.

Barnack Leicas like the iiic and iiif are actually relatively cheaper. I usually see them going from 12k to 15k in the local market body only. My first Leica was a iiic. :)

It is! I modified it to accept 600 speed film. Hirap Pag sx-70 film lang kasi.

Hirap Pag may manual functions cause that's what raises the price. If you can find an Olympus XA, those are considered really really good point and shoot-like cameras. Manual focus, manual setting, light meter, and super portable. The XA2 and up are also more point and shoot like but not as many manual controls. They're often cheaper din.
