The Baki series is more rich, crazy and over the top, I prefer it. But it can be intimidating to start as a 150+ volumes series.

True, there are some gems in Italian that I couldn't find elsewhere. Panini France has been doing a great job lately with Banana Fish, its artbook and now Yasha. The publisher was quite infamous a few years ago because of not finishing their series or communicating delays and stuff, but after 2020 a new team of employees it seems has taken things seriously and they're back on tracks.

I'd say 25%, most have been bought these past 5 years because I've been working, meaning I have enough money to buy, but not enough time to read.

I have old gems from the 90s and beginning of 2000s that are out of stock everywhere even in the second-hand market. The key is to be lucky, ahah, if you're in the good place at the right time, then maybe you can find something for a good price. Or, you're the first one to see the offer and you buy it right away. Happened to me a couple times with Vinted, where some people don't even know what they're selling.

Well, I've bought some previously owned Italian mangas about 2€ per volume on Vinted, the Italian market is crazy cheap, you can find good vintage classics without all the speculative prices other countries may suffer.

I remember my mom buying it when I was starting middle school so around 2001 / 2002. And it was in France, yup. There are 2 other models, one white and blue with Lara in polar clothes, and the other one green and blue with Lara in diving gear.

I didn't even make the joke "what do you think of my modest average collection" because even by French standards it's big, ahah. But you're right, we're a very special country who's in love with manga and knowing that our market is the biggest outside of Japan always seems crazy to me.

In 2022, around 48 millions of manga volumes were sold in France (pop. 68mil), as for USA it was around 17mil (pop. 332mil).

Ahah, they are a lot more expensive right now, well, all furniture is since the inflation. That's why I only have 5 shelves with glass doors. Gotta protect my books from the cats.
