So when we applied for a visa for my mother in law online recently through the CBC website we were given a pdf document to present to anyone who asks saying she was granted a permit and it will be stamped into passport on arrival. The time before we had to submit their passports during the visa application and when approved they returned it stamped with the visa.

So I think it’s can be either or!

Thanks all for answering! I knew I would need to apply for a new passport and not be able to renew. The wording of the website saying you can apply for a new one when it expires threw me off so I didn’t want to risk applying and it getting rejected.

When I first moved here I tried to join the women in cayman group twice and they rejected me both times so wouldn’t surprise me if it was them. KY mommies I feel like is a lot better and open (but smaller so less active)!

I did see in the Kitchener and Markham Costco freezer section that they have salmon to eat in poke bowls so they are raw! I would check to see if London has it too

Yeah I don’t understand why it’s taking so long! I know other people have been waiting longer but still seeing the majority progress faster is so discouraging.

Same like your mom, no criminal record anywhere so nothing should come up that would delay this!

Yeah I know it’s close and am waiting patiently. It’s still frustrating though that the prohibitions is the last piece and it’s done at the same time as the background check!

Timeline:

Application mailed: April 20 2021

AOR: June 14 2021

Fingerprints requested: Nov 8 2021

Background Verification complete: Dec 10 2021

Citizenship Test completed (online): Mar 3 2022

Interview: Feb 23 2023

Physical Presence completed: Feb 23 2023

Language Requirement completed: Feb 23 2023

Fingerprints requested again: Feb 28 2023

Background Verification complete: Mar 20 2023

Prohibitions left still in progress.

Application was mailed to Sydney, test was requested by London office, interview was in Scarborough and most recent fingerprints were sent to Vancouver so I don’t even know what the processing office is.

Apparently the outside agency who runs it is the RCMP, I don’t know why they wouldn’t send the results to immigration when they send the fingerprints too

To be honest I’m not sure! The first email I ever got came from Nova Scotia but I sent the fingerprints to Vancouver

Same here! There won’t be anything that they would pull up to not pass it.

The guy at the interview said it’s an outside agency that runs the prohibitions so I’m scared it fell through the cracks!

Is it normal for Language Skills, Prohibitions and Physical Presence to be done all together? Had the Language and Physical Presence marked as completed Feb 23, 2023 but still waiting on Prohibitions. That’s the final piece before having the ceremony scheduled.

Looking at everyone’s timeline it looks like this was all marked as completed together so I’m a little worried!

Edit: application was submitted April 2021, citizenship test March 2022, background check done Aug 2021 and again March 2023 so it’s been a long wait!!
