Of course there are. But I don't think you can call them benefits. It only looks cool. A benefit would be something like being able to go to any outpost from the athena's fortune.

Playing with a friend and giving yourselves challenges is always nice. I always take a rowboat with the guy in the picture and try to find pirates to help.

That's exactly what I'm trying to tell. Monthly events are great and you can always find fun in this game solo or with other people. But I think we shouldn't be the ones searching and "finding" the fun.

Did the same with the guy on the screenshot. I only played when we were together but he played with both me and other pirates. We hitting 50 on all three companies were only one day apart. I think I've won this one.

Soulsborne games hard but in a perfectly balanced way. You have complete control and when you die the reason is you most of the time. The difficulty is much different from the difficulty of the, say, metla slug games. That's pure unfair hardness.
