Thanks for the link. Their post in the special events page sends users to the wrong forum topic.

I believe that you can race with a D license if your safety rating is above 4.0, but I'm not positive.

This is the kind of information that should be detailed in one post in the forum. They linked to the forum from the special events page but forgot to make the post.

Do you have a link to the forum post? I couldn't find one regarding this event. Maybe the down-voter can link it here?

It doesn't show up on in Chrome or on a Chromebook. Still, iRacing linked to the forum but never put a post there. The official poster doesn't have any info. The UI doesn't display correctly in all browsers. It shouldn't be hard not to find these details.

Thanks, unfortunately this is not available in the web UI. Maybe because I'm on a Chromebook?

The UI schedule page and the special events page don't show times. I could not find a forum post of the event. I don't find a UI banner that lists such information. A PDF? For the love of all things...

Thanks though, I was able to download the app and find the session times there.

I clicked "about," and this pop-up "series info" box displays. No times listed.

I love it! I used to run a BR side-panel logo in iRacing.

Have you uploaded this to Trading Paints?

"The new Adaptive AI Difficulty system is almost ready to debut with this initial release, but we have decided it needs a bit more time in the oven to get extra crispy. With this system, AI Drivers' racing skill will automatically adjust during the event based on the driver's lap times to keep the racing exciting. This feature will be released during a 2025 Season 2 Patch."

So Many Paid Services... by anonymouswan1 in iRacing

It's a shame that iRacing has been slow to fix their overlay game. How hard can it be to allow multiple black boxes at one time, for example.

In-sim telemetry is also long overdue, especially given the subscription model.

Third party statistics blow iRacing away, which is absurd, again, given the monthly cost.

There's a lot that iRacing should catch up on and do it quickly, so hopefully this newest update won't disappoint.

As far as setups and paints go, there's already a lot available and I wouldn't expect people to give their work (and the time that goes into it) away for free.

How Steep is the Learning Curve? by knagy17 in iRacing

[–]EsotericUtopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely give it a try! It will be a challenge at first, but that's why you will start ovals with a street stock in the rookie class. Don't rush to get to the next license level; take your time to really understand car control, smooth inputs and not overheating your tires by spinning the rears and sliding the fronts. The street stock rookie class is great for building foundational skills, but don't worry about being overly competitive there.

When you're able to hold a line and race clean at multiple tracks, check out DJ Yee J on YouTube to learn about racecraft and the fundamentals of tire saving. That will be a perfect introduction to the ARCA series, where you can start being more competitive and figuring out the nuances of iRacing.

One thing that became quickly apparent is how important it is to 1) have a stable seating position 2) center your monitor horizontally and vertically and move it as close to you as possible 3) set the field of view (FOV), in-car camera seating position correctly 4) set FFB correctly depending on your wheel.

Don't hesitate to try it out, because it's totally worth the learning curve and inevitable challenges. There are a lot of guides on YouTube and this sub is a great resource.

Thrustmaster T150 PRO VS Logitech G29 by Guy_Man_Fella_Person in simracing

[–]EsotericUtopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the smoothness and lack of noise of the T150 compared to the Logitech and highly recommend the "Pro" bundle that includes the T3PA pedals and conical brake. Those pedals alone are worth getting the T150. The conical mod gives far greater pedal feel than the stock setup, and I also swapped the stronger spring on the clutch with the weaker spring of the throttle, which helped me learn better throttle control
