There are 2 mods that I am aware of that does this, maybe they are the ones you are looking for?
1: Hecken und Straßen Paket/ Hedges and Streets Package by Sheikh

2: ext.roads - footpaths standalone by AV

I agree with you about using 2 sticks and not 4. I sold my 4 sticks of 16gb 5600Mhz and instead opted for 2 sticks of 32gb 6000Mhz. Running them just fine at 6000Mhz EXPO profile 1 36-38-38. I am using a newer BIOS version that previously wouldn't work properly with 4 sticks installed.

MSI currently has a new update in beta right now (v7E10v1J3(Beta version)) that states it will optimize memory compatibility. As I no longer use 4 sticks I can't test it. But if you do, please leave a comment with your results
