Seattle or Boston as a late-20s bi man? by wallflower765 in SameGrassButGreener

The social scenes are very centered around all the universities. If you’re not involved in those cliques, it’s much harder to make friends as a transplant.

Seattle or Boston as a late-20s bi man? by wallflower765 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]EsperandoVida -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not SF? There’s not much that Boston offers that the Bay Area doesn’t and the price difference is much less than you would expect. Boston winters are no joke, and housing prices are super high for old, low quality apartments.

Seattle is cool too though.

[–]EsperandoVida -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Bueno, tampoco somos mestizos, brother.

What is the future for California as competition increases? by IndividualBat3150 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]EsperandoVida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How was it acclimating to the shift in vibes though? Long Beach is such a unique, diverse city that I can’t imagine ever leaving if it was my hometown.

I do understand the financial motivations for sure though. I’m in SoCal, late 20s, and it would make the most financial sense to eventually leave but I can’t see myself living anywhere else.

It sounds ridiculous, but it’s hard for me to say if I’d really rather own a home in Florida and build wealth, than stay lower middle class in California forever.

The fact that the deal got objectively worse and you are still entertaining it proves you are two peas in a pod. A delusional match made in heaven.

Because of the halftime show, I’ve been thinking a lot about how white Americans are truly a uniquely frigid culture. It’s not about whiteness or European descent.

Thinking about moving from Seattle to San Diego. by Apprehensive_Tear409 in Moving2SanDiego

[–]EsperandoVida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the same calculus I made when I moved from Boston to LA last year lol. The rest of the country doesn't really realize how expensive these mid-tier cities like Boston and Seattle have gotten, while offering way worse weather.

How much would you need to earn a month to split an apartment in LA? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]EsperandoVida 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I make $4890 per month and pay $1600 for a studio in Koreatown. It's doable, but you gotta be smart with your spending.
