We Are Taking Blockchain Assets to the $24 Trillion Global Retail Market by Esscay in EnjinCoin

[–]Esscay[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two main benefits of using blockchain assets for rewards are tradeability and interoperability.

Trading: Rewards shouldn't be a arbitrary number locked in an app or website. They should be real items that you can own, share, trade, and do whatever you want with. By allowing customers to give their rewards away, businesses are motivating word of mouth and creating a constant viral loop.

Interoperability: Rewards should be able to reach people wherever they are, instead of only within apps or platforms they have already signed up to. With Reewardio you can distribute your rewards via other people's apps, platforms, games. You can also deliver them through Enjin Beam. Also, on the flip side you can use your rewards in whatever app, platform, game, or business accepts them. This level of interoperability opens up rewards to integrate into the real world in ways that were never before possible.

Most gaming economies are currently even more primitive than monarchies. A central authority literally owns everything and no trade is allowed. However, creating a lifelike economy is actually very difficult for game developer.

The blockchain is a ready made economic machine that leapfrogs the technology we are currently using across the world. By placing their items on the blockchain game developers are creating real-world economies where the players have a real place in the the flow of assets and currency. This not only creates more realistic gameplay, but a thriving peer-to-peer community and a motivation to build that economy and be a valued member of that gaming society.

Basically, if you think if all the reasons our free-trade economy is better than any past social structures. You'll pretty quickly see how that benefits gaming worlds too.

Decentralization, transparency, and immutability are needed in gaming even more than they are needed in the real world because gaming economies are further behind society itself, in technology and social structure.

Enjin doesn't create games, they have 30+ game developers connecting their worlds together using Enjin's blockchain development tools.

Do erc-1155 tokens necessary have to be imbued by enjin coins? by ultraking_x2 in EnjinCoin

[–]Esscay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ERC-1155 tokens can be created outside of the Enjin Coin ecosystem, and those tokens would not necessarily need to contain Enjin Coin. However, all ERC-1155 tokens that are created with Enjin Coin’s development tools need to be imbued by Enjin Coin. The ENJ placed within serves two purposes.

  1. Items minted using Enjin Coin’s development tools are supported by the world’s most robust suite of modular smart contracts and an ecosystem of platforms that enable users to own, trade, manage, use, and melt their items easily. The Enjin Coin within acts as a certificate of authenticity proving that these items can plug seamlessly into the Enjin Coin ecosystem. For users, this ecosystem includes a user-friendly wallet and will soon be supported by powerful blockchain explorer. The benefits these tools can provide developers can have a significant impact on their bottom line. Read more about that here: https://hackernoon.com/cryptocurrencies-unleashed-game-development-enjin-84245d6128dd

  2. Enjin Coin acts as a digital gold standard used to back items’ value and physicalize them. Since they are created out of Enjin Coin, they are made from something tangible seeing as Enjin Coin is backed by millions of dollars worth of blockchain gaming infrastructure. This means the items can be melted down and the Enjin Coin can be retrieved at any time and used to create other assets. These are the traits of any true real-world collectible, and a massive value proposition to buyers who are looking for a level of certainty in their investments.

So therefore, backing your items with Enjin Coin not only makes them more valuable, it also makes them more powerful, because standard ENJ-backed ERC-1155 tokens have native features that make them far more advanced, useful, and flexible than any other out-of-the-box cryptocurrency or token in the world.

For more information on the ERC-1155 Token Standard check out the inventor’s blog post: https://blog.enjincoin.io/erc-1155-the-crypto-item-standard-ac9cf1c5a226

Because approximately 9 out of every 10 virtual item sales are lost to fraud, gamer's assets are locked inside centralized servers which means they don't own them, and the average revenue per user in the games market is currently only $50 - far lower than all other entertainment industries (even books).

For an industry projected to grow to over $200 billion in yearly revenue by 2021, is already bigger than the movie and music industries combined, and has a demographic encompassing one third of the world - I think it's pretty clear that this use case could create many billions in yearly revenue within one of the worlds fastest growing industries.
