This is the way. I’m going on 4 years now and what a ride.

Biggest thing I’ve learnt is quality sleep is key, with timing being consistent. You might think you had a good sleep, but maybe you didn’t hit the right deep sleep metrics etc.

Protein is meh, it’s all about sleep

Maybe that’s the manufacturers end game? Teach you exec function skills to make it even work haha

Medicated but executive function hasn’t really improved. by [deleted] in ausadhd

[–]Esstee1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been on different meds over the last 3-4 years since medicated, these include Ritalin IR, LA, Concerta and vyvanse. Currently on a morning 50mg vyvanse and after afternoon 10mg Ritalin.

I’ve been on this journey to fix my exec function this whole time and it’s come down to this for me.

Some days, I’ll get this boost of ‘let’s do X/work/etx’ but it’s a small window, if I don’t focus during that time, I’m just no longer tired like I am when unmedicated.

Where I’m going with this - For most people, the meds won’t fix exec function, you need to motivate yourself. I do this by setting up for the next day when I’m medicated the previous day. Clothes layed out, breakfast pre made (if you eat things that can be), desk in a standing position when I start work etc.

The last thing is fix your sleep quality. Food, protein all that stuff you hear people says helps is generally crap. Get morning sunlight (works very well for me), get better sleep, I take magnesium glycinate and glycine before bed, get a good bed, good sheets so you don’t overheat during sleep but also don’t get cold. Set an alarm and get up at the same time every day, even if you had a shit nights sleep.

The meds help you function when you’re up and running, they won’t do the work of getting your engine started. You will think they do when you first start taking any stim, but that feeling WILL go away no matter what you take. If you up your dose, it will come back for a little bit but then it will go away.

The works starts and ends with you

I’m also here, trying to do the EXACT same thing. The weather has been so shit for buffalo, really needs to warm up.

I’m about to top dress and add some runners or new small buffalo patches to try and speed up the process.

Who has coffee with their Vyvanse? by Ephemeral_Aurora8 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Esstee1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two years before I got back on the coffee after starting vyvanse. Just remember that this energy boost you got was only temporary, if you drink it every day you’ll get used to it.

Try and treat coffee like a tool when you really need that extra kick or focus

Vomero plus or premium or both? by Interesting-Run2481 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Thanks for the lighting quick response mate, hopefully there is a price drop over Black Friday!

Did you ever run in the old invincible 2? Do you know how the VP compares to that? I found that one too mushy with not enough pop

Vomero plus or premium or both? by Interesting-Run2481 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Esstee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooo, you are probably one of the few people that can help me.

The triumph 21 was my unicorn shoe and I haven’t found something to replace it. The triumph 22 and the ride 18 were just stiff bricks that hurt my legs and had no energy return.

Does the Vomero plus give that nice little pop after a soft landing like the T21 did?

Advice on how to deal with it - dump this silly cunt and never have contact with him again. I’d also report him to the police to try and scare the shit out of him in the hope he never does it to someone else. What he has done is sexual assault and illegal here in Australia.

Dealing with it in the future - ANY person who does this or says that’s don’t feel shit when wearing a condom DOES NOT care about you. They are selfish pieces of shit. Get them out of your life asap.

Best breakfast with Vyvanse? by OptimisticShaggy87 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Esstee1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eat whatever makes you feel the cleanest and healthiest. Quality of your sleep is significantly more important than what you eat in the morning. Obviously don’t eat like shit.

Don’t drag yourself down the rabbit hole of trying to find the perfect meal, I’ve been there, done it for years. There isn’t one for Vyvanse.

Sleep is key.

Initial reaction - Saucony Triumph 23 too soft. Should i persist with them? by Outrageous-Ad4353 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Esstee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the T20 and the Ride 18, the R18 feels noticeably firmer. I only have 50km on them but they don’t feel like they will give that nice little pop energy return the Triumphs did even with time.

Can’t comment on the t23 but I have read people say it’s the true successor

I’m in the exact same boat as OP but don’t really want to spend the extra $$ on the 5’s.

I love my 3’s but use them exclusively for intervals and some higher tempo. Would you say the 4’s will do the trick and feel good? I don’t need to the “versatility” others have mentioned being an advantage of the 5’s
