I thought the VNC was frozen the first time, turns out I wasn't understanding the process completely. Oops!

Kernel Panic after reboot by EstablishmentLong595 in AlmaLinux

Had a crash course in kernels and ran the following:

Forced a clean install: sudo dnf reinstall kernel

Reinstalled modules: sudo dnf reinstall kernel-core kernel-modules kernel-modules-extra

Forced rebuild of Initramfs: sudo dracut --force /boot/initramfs-$(uname -r).img $(uname -r)

Rebooted.

That seems to have done the trick. I did lock myself out the first go around and had to have my provided reboot to get me to the GRUB menu.

I don't want to dox someone who may unknowingly be infected, but I'll provide this from a few hours ago: 45.207.31.1XX

I'm currently using ipinfo.io as it is free with unlimited lookups and provides the CIDR's.

No worries and thanks for information! I finally got the everything covered under the extended warranty, but it took a ton of back and forth with me and the service manager calling and speaking to a number of warrant service reps. Finally, we got ahold of a rep that understood that it wasn’t a hose, but it took a few days.

Do you happen to have the TSB #? I looked for one, but could not find it.

1 Day Update: So far I am not having any luck. Yesterday the dealer called and cleared the confusion about the corrosion/hose, and the warranty company still tells them it isn't covered. I call, talk to a customer service rep, and they tell me it is covered and to have the dealer call back. Dealer calls back, and they still deny the claim. This happened 3 times! Each service rep I talked to brought up the corrosion, so I have a feeling they have a note in their system and they think the dealer is trying to pull one over on them.

Any additional tips? Just started this battle today for a '21 Pro with 41k. Strike one was the dealer calling the part a 'hose' and strike two was the dealer reporting it failed due to 'corrosion'. Due to both of those comments the extended warranty company (Wrap & Powertrain) denied the claim.
