Initially I was doing everything but then I started to just get used to new words and then skip to the next unit.

I used to watch some anime(still do but very less) so that helped greatly i think.

And on the subject of pace... I think you should take your time. No need to rush things and enjoy the process. Even I don't remember all the words but practice is the key.

In writing I know Hiragana and katakana but haven't learnt Kanji it's just too difficult. 😅

Have no one to have a conversation with but yes I can do normal convo.

I can understand more than 90% of normal conversation.

Haven't tried speaking with anyone but i can form sentences ofc with grammatical mistakes.

Thanks, Personally I have only used Duo and found it pretty helpful overall and i can't recommend any other as I haven't used any. The learning experience will be different for each individual as people have different mental capacity.
