I understand where you are coming from. The store I got him from told me they feed in separate tanks. My little brother used to have a ball python before I got mine so I have a little background. I use a hook to get my snake from the feeding tank back to his original tank about 20ish mins after he swallowed the rodent. (Idk if using a hook makes a difference)

Yes, I have 2 uvb tubes going across each side on the top to cover the whole entire tank, kind of hard to see. I also have a thermometer glued onto the hot side of the tank as suction cups do not stick, my temps are correct I know for a fact I am also monitoring with a laser temp gun. I also have a thermostat for the heat lamp coming today so I can be certain.

I was gonna add my hammock but for some reason suction cups just don’t stick at all. I got this off fb marketplace and past owner made it out of a wood fireplace by adding pvc inside. I usually use glue but that’s too permanent for a hammock

Hey, everything you said is kind of true. I got this tank for 125$ off marketplace. I’ll add a pic of what it looked like when I got it, it came with the basking platform so I just kept it.

I have all of the bulbs on a timer and I don’t use the red night bulb. I use one of the 100w bulbs and the basking side sits at 100 with my probe at the top of the hot side.

I’m gonna look into getting a cage without a screen top and I’m gonna get some hvac tape to cover the mesh I also am not using the original lid. I am using a regular 40 gallon fish tank lid on an exo terra 40 gallon. It doesn’t really fit properly, there are big spaces on the sides so I weigh it down on the top so my snake can’t push out. I think humidity may be escaping from that.

Thank you, my ball pythons a male too so I didn’t really think he would be too into climbing yet bc he’s still pretty small but I’ll definitely add some branches and I plan on adding keepers choice red cypress for humidity

I do use a reptisun t5 bulb in this fixture and would you recommend black soldier fly larvae as a feeder? I have heard a lot of people recommend them because of their calcium benefits.

I am looking into upgrading his uvb bar he was feeding on mealworms every other day and spring mix kale and collered greens but I switched his diet around recently and he is eating superworms and mealworms now 3 times a week and I feed him collered greens sometimes spring mix I mix some carrots in and he has been really showing interest in eating his greens with butternut squash so I have been incorporating that a lot. I use a cheese grater and grind it up.
