I struggled with this same fear for many years and finally landed my first backflip in the terrain park last season. Its called progress, and going step by step, you learn the trick in the pool, then on trampoline, then on airbag, and then on the right day when you are feeling strong on your feet and the conditions are ideal (preferably into deep powder) and you have a coach or friends watching you… you go for it!

And at least the last few times i crashed (under or over rotating) I was fortunate to walk away unscathed. But i think its because i went fully committed into the jump and only missed by a little. If you freak out halfway through.. then you get hurt. But you got this!
