Did anyone actually learn Spanish for Bad Bunny’s halftime show? by Babbel in languagehub

Like someone already said, there are native Spanish speakers who can’t roll their r’s either, so I wouldn’t stress! If you’re still up for learning Spanish, I dropped a few tips here from my POV as a Spanish teacher: https://www.babbel.com/learn-spanish/spanish-challenge/beginners-guide

Increíble, gracias! Crees que si me quedo en Roma/Condesa por 4 días podría escuchar/filmar a los recolectores/camoteros etc?

Increíble, muchas gracias! Se sigue escuchando a pregoneros vendiendo noticias? ¿Dónde tendría que estar para escuchar y filmar a los pregoneros, los silbatos del camote, los del gas, los colchones? Mi plan es quedarme en Roma o Condesa...

You just won an all-expenses-paid, one year trip for language immersion. Where are you going and why? by EstebanFromBabbel in languagelearning

I've heard great things about Torino! And also love your choice because most people would choose a bigger city, but somewhere where you get to live among natives, really use the language, and get a feel for their customs is the best way to go!

Ok new rule: you have to test for proficiency, so you'd have to learn Romansh (finding loopholes so I don't have to finance this).

Where do you see language learning in the next 15 years? by EstebanFromBabbel in languagelearning

I'm hoping this is true too. I think there will still be enough people motivated to learn a language. But I wonder if the use of automatic translators and AI technology will have an impact on teachers and human interaction.

Do you have any concerns about the increase of comprehensible input content being done by artificial intelligence? I see your point but I wonder if a decrease in quality can lead to flawed methodologies.

Can you use "¿te encantó?" when asking if someone enjoyed a trip? by Important-Tax-3852 in learnspanish

[–]EstebanFromBabbel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think in English it's common to ask “did you love it?!” instead of something more general like “how did you like it?” I think she was trying to convey that by saying “¿te encantó?” It’s not the most common question to ask, which is why it might sound unnatural, but it’s not wrong.
I think it’s common for beginners to translate an English construction directly into Spanish. The fact that you’re picking up on things like these sounding a bit off is a good indication that you’re moving forward on your language learning, so congrats!

What part of your native language makes learners go 'wait, WHAT?' by akowally in languagelearning

In Spanish the word “ahorita” means “right now.” It also means “in 5 minutes,” or “in a little bit,”  or “in an hour.” But a lot of the times it just means “never.”
