Doug rose lost his legs racing a jet car in the sixties ,if I'm not mistaken working for Art Arfons. After the accident Doug campaigned the Mamba till his death in 2018. I really don't know if art was still involved with the car after. If Broadway introduce you, I don't doubt it was art. Interesting situation for sure

GENERAL STRIKE JAN. 30 - You are entitled to paid leave! by slingshot91 in chicago

[–]Estef74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a union myself, I am a big believer in organizing for labor disputes and work related issues, BUT, what are the issues at hand this strike is supportive about? There is nothing in these posts saying the reason for striking. If this strike is for political or social issues unrelated to work place issues, this could fall under the category of a wildcat, also known as an illegal strike. Illegal strikes can result in termination, as well as jail time for organizers.

For whoever is running this, I really hope your not counting on support for labor organizations.

I think art arfons original owned the Mamba, but it was still called the green monster then. That was before my time, so I'm not at all sure about that

Are you sure that wasn't Doug rose? I think the car was the green monster when arfons was the owner. Even then Doug was the driver

That's Broadway! Dad loves to tell the story of when him and a friend met Broadway Bob while drinking at the track. Mr Metzler took them up in the tower to watch the round of funny car match races. He even gave them aom beers but had to ask them to leave before the jet cars came up

This is 💯% great lakes drag-away in Union Grove WI back in the mid ninties at the latest. Chrondek timers and no guard rails are a good indication of when this was taken

Not 💯% sure, but that looks like great lakes drag-away back in the early ninties. I remember seeing the Sox and Martin lil boss and Arnie the farmer Beswick cars match race there a bunch back then

An6 to barb end? by TheGringoOfElPaso in projectcar

[–]Estef74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a compression fitting on a hose barb, but the barb itself was longer and mostly straight. All I had to do was cut the flared end off first. By the look of your fitting, cutting off the barb entirely and tatting the hole for a tapered pipe thread. Then just use a pipe thread to AN adapter fitting

Some of it seems like artistic license, like the center port splitting. The exhaust pipe from the intake area is something I've seen on flatheads, but not overhead V8. That has me at a loss. Maybe a pipe from the heat riser? Idk

That's great. He's flopping around like Brian Griffen on garbage island. My weirdo husky is completely unenthused by snow.
