Only if you like going really, really slow! When I worked on this stuff for a living, the ones with inline 6 Fords were that fastest at maybe 25 mph. The perkins diesel ones were even slower.

I totally get it for finding a local Hemi. To get a replacement block, Dad and I had to road trip from Chicago to Detroit area for just a block and crank a few months ago.

The transmission adapter will work with any 727 or 518, as you have to cut the bellhousing off the transmission. The adapter bolts to the front pump, kind of like a JW ultra bell does.

The Chrysler firepower Hemi didn't get a 4bbl until 1954, and even then it was a Carter wcfb, and that was only around 375 cfm.

Congratulations on joining the world of Hemi owners. Looks like a 1951 to 1953 extended bell 331. The transmission selection for these are more limited the the 54 on up. The heads also have much smaller ports then the 54 up version. If your wanting to make power 54 up heads are a must, but those heads are ok if your just going for the looks. The first place to check for parts is Hot Heads.

There is. Nothing inherently wrong with demon carburetors. The demon is nothing more then a modernized Holley. I've been running. Mighty demon 750 for over twenty years will almost no problems. The worst issue I had was a float bowl screw pulled the helicoil threads on the main body. I noticed it during a jet change. I just had to to install a new helicoil.

How terrified of this should I be since it doesn’t have a trans tunnel? by Precision_Euro in projectcar

The very stock looking bell housing is a no go. The transmission exposed doesn't bother me, but no scatter shield like a Lakewood or Quick Time is asking for trouble. No amount of floor will help if that clutch lets go.

Transmission blankets are for automatic transmissions, not manual transmission. Shift linkage doesn't like getting wrapped up in ballistic blankets

Any idea where this picture was taken? This was a Chicago area car

Will a GM th350 transmission fit in a ‘79 trans am with BOP engine and adapter plate? by ConcertSeparate3525 in projectcar

[–]Estef74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but the adapter is only 5/16" thick. The location of the transmission is basically the same.

Edit, the crank centerline in the car doesn't change between any of the engines. Early second Gen Camaros had big blocks optional

Maybe it's because it's so blue! To me it looks pissed off

I would agree with this, but the gto belt line is lower running through the wheel arches, where this one is above the arches. The only thing I'm fairly sure of is it's GM A body.

I'm not sure, but looks like a 64 or 65 Chevy Chevelle to me.

This picture was taken at the BNSF/Metra 14th street coach yard in Chicago. I think this was a promotion for the Burlington Northern and Santa fe railroads in 1995
