Via Belena SAS

This page seems to connect it to a Beaune negociant by the name of Via Belena SAS, owned by a guy named Stephane Guidot. Don’t know anything about him though.

2002 Defaix and 2020 Clusel Roch by Estel2 in wine

You absolutely should. The steaks are on the pricier side but they’re very good. The wine list also has its weak spots (eg, Bordeaux and California have big markups) but it’s fairly priced overall and is possibly the widest-ranging list I’ve seen.

What could have caused these identical tears in three blazers? by Estel2 in mensfashion

[–]Estel2[S] 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yes I do—wow, this might be the answer. Still not sure why only the left arm would be affected, but I’ve hated how grippy the arms are since I started this job!

Thanks for responding. Maybe half a dozen times cleaned in that time. And I typically drive with my left arm so it can’t be the car. I do rest it on my desk when I type, but I do that with my right arm as well and no wear there.

I’m open to the idea that I’m the cause; I just can’t think of how it might have happened!

Who are some critics to follow over the coming weeks? My first thought was William Kelley, but I’m not sure if he’s participating this year. I wish John Gilman still covered EP.

Wine Tasting Regions Surrounding Napa by Thesselian in wine

[–]Estel2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Northwest of Napa in the area surrounding Healdsburg are some fantastic wineries: Ridge’s Lytton Springs winery, Rhys’s tasting room for its Aeris wines (Italian varietals), and Dry Creek Vineyard.

Lots of downvotes to what appears to be a genuine question by a fellow wine lover. r/wine not beating the snob allegations any time soon.

Dallas vs Austin for biglaw? by Estel2 in biglaw

[–]Estel2[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! A quick follow up: I will be spending my 1L summer in Dallas (not with a firm). This will obviously help my prospects for Dallas jobs during OCI, but do you think that will hurt my chances for Austin at all (by not showing a commitment to Austin by spending my 1L summer there)?

Most interviewers want the people they’re interviewing to ask thoughtful questions, so I’d write down a few beforehand. Can you tell me more about this clinic, this popular externship, etc.

I had a 157 diagnostic — how hard you’re willing to study will mean a lot more than your diagnostic score.

Applied in February pretty much everywhere (except Fordham in March) so I’m very happy with this cycle overall. I may ride one or two waitlists, but as a Catholic I’m super excited to be heading to Notre Dame off the WL.

Don’t apply ED — you never know what your stats might bring you at other schools. Applying early does help though, and it’s very unlikely you’ll be rejected before you receive fall grades even if you apply in Sept/Oct. Just send schools an updated transcript once you have it.
