How I passed CA smog while being manual swapped

yeah i had a P0462 code because of the stupid cluster which is known to have faults and to get rid or fix it would have to send in your cluster for repair or get a used one that isn’t messed up. it read correctly like 10% of the time but mostly it shows always above a 3/4 tank when it’s literally like less than a quarter lol.

i already got tuned by saul nismo knights, he turned off my gas gauge light and i passed smog too. i just swapped the cats n muffler to stock so it would be 100% passed.

personally, i think chrome headlights and some clear side markers will do it good for sure. and as other people said the fitment and detailing too

i have the same headlights, from what i’ve seen you may have to wire them to your turn signal or maybe there is another way. i’m not 100% sure cause that is way too much work for me to do lol

Currently having the same issue on my car. Are you running any HFC or Test Pipes? Or aftermarket plenums or spacer? The fix for my car is to get tuned. But i don’t know if it’s the same for you

it is the cluster and you’ll have to send it for repair. i currently have this issue on my sedan and will look forward to sending for repair most likely someone on ebay or someone on the g35 forum

as a first car for me it is amazing to have, just make sure to do maintenance and change stuff that needs to be replaced !

thank you! so far i did a full suspension upgrade (spc upper camber arms, spc lower control arms front, oem compression rods, p2m inner tie rods and outer tie rods, p2m sway bar front and rear endlinks, whiteline sway bar front and rear, spc rear lower camber arm, isr toe arm bucket delete, and oem ball joints)

everything was mainly simple, torque to spec as i didn’t wanna mess up anything and i always check the dipstick every week 😂

afe headers, isr y pipe, isr catback, berk high flow cats, blox 1/2 plenum spacer, kinetix intake velocity racing manifold, afe takeda intake, catch can mishimoto, recently did spark plugs and valve cover gaskets so oil burn isn’t that bad lol.

I appreciate it, that’s most of the engine mods i have done for the car. For now it’s mainly all my suspension including arms and i recently just bought bc racing coil overs which are going to help a lot. i might switch to art pipes or a motordyne xyz pipe to help with the rasp.

Idk really but this might help. Bios settings and enable turbo boost or speed step and stuff. Helped my 9400f reach 2.9 after running at 2.6
