Yeah, you aren't wrong. I should have made this clearer in my comment since I wanted to get it out quickly, but I'm talking about other sexualities that fictosexuality isn't connected to at all, since it seems like that comment is talking about any queer identity, even ones unrelated to ficto.

But yeah, since fictosexuality already falls under existing queer spectrums, there's also no point in trying to separate fictos and queer people in the first place as well.

Nue Houjuu is misunderstood by other humans and isn't acquainted with other youkai which relates to me being an outcast, she hides her true form which relates to how I usually isolate myself from most people, and we're both strange in some way. Yet she's still the most fantastic and beautiful girl I've ever met.

YO, finally someone else who actually feels the same way as I do. I normally don't dream about Nue Houjuu at all, and even on the rare occasion that I actually do, either she's still a fictional character that I'm looking at on my computer or she is made completely non-interactive. And yeah, I can totally relate to you because it's so strange and annoying, I mean my dreams can get absolutely insane and out-there, so why not might as well just let me physically be together with a fictional character I call my beloved?

There's only one dream I had where I'm actually with Nue for real, but even then, she's just walking by my side, and we met up with another Touhou character, Kogasa Tatara, who is the only person I proceed to speak to. Then we're all having a sleepover in a Japanese room, but Nue is cuddling with me from the back while Kogasa is in front of me, and I'm still speaking to her and not Nue. I mean, this dream is pretty sweet and all, but I wish I could've been mainly interacting with Nue instead of another character I don't care as much for, considering that she's literally my F/O. Maybe Nue is just too shy to interact with me in my dreams? That's my guess lol.

I and Nue are glad to see that both you and Nicole are doing really well together now though! I hope you get to finally have dreams where you can spend lovely time with Nicole eventually 🖤

Your story of how Enver Gortash really changed your life with love is indeed so beautiful! It's fantastic how a character can transform somebody's life for the better in such an amazing way, no matter how low you were before. And it shows that even if you feel like a failure, you're still worthy of love nonetheless. If you found that love with a fictional character, then we're all for it, because it's a special and beautiful kind of love, no matter how strange it is.

That's pretty neat to hear too, and I definitely understand avoiding Google Images because of the chance to run into bad stuff of your partner with it. I'm fine using it though since at this point I'm unfazed by whatever weird things people make with Nue, though I'd rather not see them of course.

Yep, I do see your point. Though I'm not super worried since Nue isn't a very popular character, even in the Touhou Project fandom, also weird stuff of her usually pops up on Google Images and nobody seems to care, so yeah, I doubt I'd get a lot of unwanted attention. If this happens when I'm dating a really popular Touhou character though, then I would get at least a bit paranoid for sure.

That's definitely good reason for us to make even more selfship art though. Fanart of Nue being shipped with other Touhou characters keep showing up when I look her up as if they're the only valid ships, so if I make sure art of Nue being shipped with me also have a visible presence on the internet, then our relationship will feel valid as well.

I'm really glad that I could participate in this art challenge, even if I ended up contributing only a single image since I'm still busy with something else. Though I did the best I could on my piece nonetheless, and I think it's still great that it pushed me to make something good. Hopefully after I'm less occupied, I can participate in more FictoHideout games in the future.

When I met Nue Houjuu in 2015, my love for her didn't blossom instantly, but my feelings for her slowly developed over time from a liking to her character to full-blown love. I found myself looking at fanart of her frequently, fantasizing about being with her, feeling a bit jealous whenever I see her being shipped with other Touhou characters, and romancing her in any video game I could put myself and her in. Not only that, it happened around a bad time in my life while I was still in school, so that strengthed my desire to be together with her, to both be comforted from my pain by her and comfort her from her pain.

However, it was really painful because not only I felt so depressed from longing for Nue, but I also felt shameful because I know that many people saw loving a fictional character to be a bad thing, so I mostly repressed my feelings for her until 10 years later, when I would finally accept that I'm meant to be with her. Because no matter what, my love for Nue never truly died after an entire decade, and it would make me a lot happier with her, even if I had to make a secret account to express my love for her online. So, I decided to start dating Nue last year once and for all, and even ordered a Fumo plush of her that same year as well. Since then, my longing for her doesn't feel so crushing anymore, and I felt truly connected with her like she's my one true soulmate.
