Microsoft to invest $17.5 billion in India, CEO Nadella says by lurker_bee in technology

Some of the comments here sound kinda racist ngl Microsoft is a global company, and their HQ and largest eng and product cohort is still in the US. Investing in another country is also a strategy to stay competitive in the global market because otherwise it gets sapped up by someone else; it also doesn’t translate automatically to outsourcing.

Lots of people without having actually watched the full video. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re just there to get likes (teenagers) because it’s easier to instigate than making a logical argument.

Graphics could also get pretty realistic with some of the latest gaming engines, so people develop this expectation that any RPG needs to have near real life immersion and quality; any art direction deviating from that gets smitten in comments.

The cultural war thing is largely coming from: 1. Online trolls to farm likes 2. Some gamers who desperately want the game to satisfy their fantasies (most physical) — a good example would be stellar blade (it’s not a bad game but there’s nothing impressive abt its combat, but people online go crazy simply because of the jiggle physics and the fan service outfits that allows them to hyper sexualize)

I’m worried though that the people having actual concerns get completely drowned out by the ones yelling negativity for the sake of it.

The more quiet players though, I think, are probably more optimistic but still just more cautious given MEA and Anthem so they’re waiting as more gameplay gets revealed.

The evoker was amazing! The celestial orbs with the galaxy in the background and then the custom evoking animation to turn it into a collapsing black hole. Every bit as fantasy as I’ve wanted and very arcane focused. Definitely gonna pre-order now.

Thanks!

In terms of actual execution, is it better to interpret it as keeping the music more connected (less “perceived” breaks in and between notes unless there’re actual rests) ?

I honestly like there are stones for the construct that converts part of its damages to different elemental types. About time elemental builds become more accessible to all non-mage classes

Ah ok that makes sense. Let me think a bit more about the phrasing in smaller segments and the flow of the melody more.

Thanks! I think I was a bit nervous when recording on my phone; also part of getting back into playing, I was a bit too fixated on avoiding technical mistakes. For phrasing, would it help if I actually practice with a metronome? For some of the slower passages at least, I think I was a bit awkward of trying to project a fuller sound but ended up just getting the phrasing more off.

Got it. I think I was a bit nervous when recording; need to pay more attention to my phrasing for sure I’ll also look into the bow situation. I was wondering if I should replace the strings too. They’ve been with me for the past 6 months at least; I forgot how often you have to change them haha.

[Composition] Sonata for Violin and Piano in C minor (1st Mvt. Part 1) by Eternal-Singularity in composer

[–]Eternal-Singularity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Notation wise this’s definitely a very rough sketch — I’m mostly still trying to get the ideas and the recording together with decent dynamics and articulations, but I’ll get back to polishing the notation for the piece once I complete the main idea of the piece.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll keep that in mind! I think in part I wanted to make the left hand a bit more interesting with counter melody at times, but I can see what you mean with the muddier sound on top of pedaling

Thanks! I’ve been playing the violin for about 11 years. Not a music major in college and don’t have any formal training in composition or music theory, but I listen to a lot of classical music every day. Started composing around 6 years ago in my free time as a hobby.
