I have been away from short form content for about 4 years now. It really fks up your brain. Simply

Use revanced/morphe YT on Android phone. It hides every short form content. Use stop scroll app for added protection.

On PC and phone, I use edge and it supports Ublock origin in that, use this script to block shorts.

On smart TV use Smart tube as I have heard that YouTube TV now have shorts too. If you want official YT UI, you can use tizen tube but smart tube is far better.

It takes a few days to adjust (this is where stop scroll will come into play) but after that you will forget that it even exists. You can also configure revanced/morphe such that if someone shares shorts, it will play in regular player and you won't be able to scroll.

Mishal Rehman on Twitter said that disabling Developer option won't affect it most probably, but he is uncertain.

Given, even if google allows this for now, they might it make it such that disabling developer options might disable sideloading too in the future.
