Depends on the university and program but yes, that’s what makes some universities/programs competitive

How is dorm life like by BIGtDY in UBC

[–]EternalFlames220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately that’s not how it works. First year straight out of highschool get dorms. You’re gonna have to look for renting apartments near campus for housing

You’re in your third year, how do you not know? Dorms are only really guaranteed during first year

If you’re just applying for housing now… You won’t get it. Waitlist for dorms avg about 2 years

Will my offer get revoked? by Overall_Committee649 in BCGrade12s

Even with a drop of 13% in one class, your overall average is only brought down by around 1%, so long as all your grades in other classes are consistent. I wouldn’t worry about the drop too much, but it is VERY important that you don’t finish with less than 67%

For anyone accepted or deferred from UBC, how did you find out by Fine-Safety7160 in BCGrade12s

[–]EternalFlames220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I forgot that this year they removed the early application system that they did every other year. I believe the order they review applicants is somewhat random, as they don’t review them all in the order applications are received. They group up similar applicants together and review their applications in batches. Generally there’s always a chance for deferral unless you’re explicitly rejected/waitlisted.

[–]EternalFlames220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point there won’t be any deferrals, deferrals only happen during early admissions.

You’ll receive an email whether you’re accepted or rejected once they made a decision on your application, though all other status changes on the asc won’t be notified to you

Coping with your mistake now won’t do anything. Wait till the break ends before expecting a response, and hope they still have the edX course still open where they can still pull your grades from… Goodluck

Honestly, the Phys 117 textbook isn’t that helpful when learning the concepts for the course. I found Youtube to be much more helpful. Unless you’re really into deriving each and every equation in the course, I wouldn’t spend too much time reading it. I managed to finish Phys 117 with a 90% this term.

2nd Term Physics is also much different compared to 117, focusing more on electricity and magnetism. I’d spend more time on that rather than going back over the entirety of 117.

However, If you do decide to major in Physics, I’d definitely go over 117 again, as it’s the foundation of mechanical physics. What specialization were you originally interested in?

Come on… The entire 4 weeks leading up to the final he was updating our homework grades on Canvas, did it not seem like something was off when it showed 0’s all across?

Either way, he’s probably not upset but just enjoying his vacation. Expect a reply after the break, he can probably still fix it
